If you do 'grabbit' from an overseas site please expect to pay import duty - my son's Playasia DS lite just cost £35 in duty!

Not region specific, i.e. Multiregion, however you will need to buy a UK charger. :)

To be honest, if you are buying from the States rather than picking up in person or a friend hand carrying home, the saving is only in the region of £20. ($129.99 (£75) + £5 Charger) and you may well get hit by Import Duty.

  • I bought several DS's from Hong Kong just before Christmas (I sold my old one on ebay for twice what I paid for it 2 years ago! I love that Christmas desperation)

I used games-asia (slow to send but when I sent them an email they admited they had 'forgotten' to send it and it arrived 2 days later. No import duty, they marked it as a gift and at a low cost). Have ordered from them again, sent an email 3 days after my order was placed to make them send it and they did. Good company and fast, but only if you tell them to send it it seems lol.

My dad bought a couple from renchi (also in Hong Kong) but was got by the import duty. You can have them mark it down in cost but if it gets lost then they will only refund you the % you asked them to mark it down to.

Best thing about buying from Hong Kong (or the States for that matter) is the colour choice and the fact that you don't have to wait for stock or pay stupid UK prices.

I can't believe that in the US you can pick one up for £65. It's insanity.

    How irritating!!

RenChi have got them in stock for £95. Several postage options - not that expensive. Arrives within 3 days. Somtimes gets import duty slapped on but I think this is a hit and miss. Still works out cheaper than those UK ebayers IMO.

Oh and you'd have to get a UK charger, cost about £4.
  • I have just had to buy from a uk seller who posts using special delivery to guarantee my daughter has it on her birthday on wednesday but it has cost me an extra £30! If i'd had the time i would have bought elsewhere.

Is it games asia or gadget asia? and did you choose the free delivery or pay extra? I notice the ones paying extra seem to get the customs charges.

Gadget asia accepts paypal so surely you could choose the free delivery and if it doesn't arrive claim through paypal.

I need to get an ice blue one for my other daughter in march, after the disaster of this one i think i better get ordering

I ordered using games asia - once free delivery, once paying extra. To be honest I don't think it matters which (speed wise).

If using them I'd order, wait 2 days then email them. It should arrive 3 days after if you give them a kick lol.

Renchi are reliable - but had to pay import duties.

(There are many other sites working out of Hong Kong but these are the best I found)
