3 Mobile PAYG. How can I check for Nuyoo scam

I am on PAYG with 3. Last week I got a text message from something called Nuyoo. I didn't respond and deleted the message from my phone. I then found when I opened Chrome that Nuyoo's page opened instead of my home page. I eventually got rid of it by uninstalling Chrome updates, clearing the cache etc. and it hasn't reappeared. However when I checked my balance today it was lower than I would expect. I googled Nuyoo and found it was associated with a scam, and many people were complaining that their phone accounts were being charged for something they hadn't agreed to. I can see how this might show up on someone's bill if they have a contract, but I can't see how to check if anything has been taken from my PAYG balance. Can anyone tell me how I can check if this is happening?

You don't say which network you are with, but any PAYG network will have some means of checking the balance, and whilst you don't get an itemised bill you can ask for one ( but you will be charged for this). Nuyoo normally take £3 per week. You could probably also contact your network and ask them to look for any unusual charges on your account
Nuyoo is a well known 'Payforit' scam, so it is almost certain that you will have been charged. If you are on PAYG, charges are taken from your account balance.
Full details of 'Payforit' scams and how to deal with them are here: http://payforitsucks.co.uk
Examples of other consumers affected by the 'Nuyoo' Payforit scam are here: http://payforitsucks.co.uk/scammers-nuyoo/
Hope you manage to get this sorted out. These scams are a disgrace to the mobile communications industry.0 -
He's with 3.
Sorry, I missed that! Interesting that nearly all of the consumers affected by the Nuyoo scam seem to be on the Three network! I am beginning to wonder whether there is a network specific issue here.
Three provide customer service by phone, so I suggest that you call them if in doubt about the deductions from your account. You do need to contact Nuyoo to stop any further deductions.
As you are on PAYG, these deductions can only be taken from your account balance. They can't touch any 'add ons' you may have. However, if you do nothing, the chances are that money will be taken the next time you top-up.
If you have paid for less than about four weeks, the chances are that Nuyoo will refund you without too much argument. If the amount is larger, they may offer a 'goodwill' gesture. If you accept this it will be almost impossible to recover the rest of your money.
If you are unable to get your money back from Nuyoo you need to revert to Three and ask them to invoke their procedure for 'Payforit' complaints.0 -
In my experience with3 as a customer, their policies and actions are entirely separate, not uncommon with outsourced offshore customer service operations I've found.0

If they are foolish enough not to follow their own published procedures, they invite consumers to ask the Communications Ombudsman to take a look.0

Thanks for the advice. I'll phone 3 when I have a minute.0

Have a look at this video, this guy telling how they get/hack the number even if you don't enter your number and then start sending you messages.
There main prey is the old people. who cannot concentrate on the bills.
