Replacing the earphone socket

I have the Oneplus 3T, it's now out of warranty by several months. Recently the earphone socket stopped working clearly and I really need it to work.

I've been quoted around £125 by Oneplus to replace this (could be more as this is an estimate) and would take at least 2 weeks! However; a replacement handset of the same model would be closer to £400 and I like the handset so I'm looking at a repair job.

Is there any scope in getting this replaced elsewhere for less? Where is worth a look and does anyone have any recommendations? I'm in London if that helps with suggestions.

It looks like the headphone replacement board only costs about £7-8 and the replacement doesn't look particularly time consuming or complicated so I'd imagine any high street phone shop should be able to sort it out for you for a lot less than £125.

Also have you checked the socket hasn't filled with lint. I use a shaved down wooden cocktail stick to carefully clean out the one on my iPhone lightning and headphone socket every few months and it is amazing the amount of fluff that come out.
