Friends dog has pollen and grass allergy , any advice or experience of this?

Pretty much what title says. Poor dog is itching all the time. To the point where skin is being broken . Anyone got this with their dog or any advice ?

My dog has some grass allergies and yesterday he came home from a walk with spots around his eyes. He has Piriton too and I give his face a good wash. His paws and pads are often cracked and bleeding so I wash them with Hibiscrub, this helps loads a few times a week. It should all calm down by the end of October thankfully.
