Post Office Direct Debits

Has the Post Office savings accounts stopped offering the option of paying in by monthly direct debit?
I've just opened an account & was offered the chance to pay in a one-off DD but could not see away to set up a regular monthly DD.

Yes you can still set up a regular DD but it will prompt you to set up a standing order instead but just ignore this. When you log into your account, click move money and make sure you pick move money in and then follow the set up instructions.0

Hello, I have just opened the new 1.45% online account,
I still have an older account at 0.45% with a monthy direct debit set up to that, but I cannot see how to arrange a new DIRECT DEBIT to the new account ??
Must it come from a different "linked account" for this to take place?
I select dates, but nowhere does it say it's a "standing order,
or a direct debit", but I can't get beyond that stage after clicking on the NEXT symbol..... it just shows the same page !

The website is a bit buggy. Suggest logging out and trying again.0

I don't know if you can see the following:
When looking at the details of your account, there is a red 'move money' box.
Click on that, and a new box opens up on half the screen, and defaults to the 'in' tab (i.e. moving money into the account).
There is a row which says "From: Linked Account; Debit Card."
Selecting 'Linked Account' shows details of the linked bank account and allows you to set up a regular payment or a one-off.0 -
Just opened a PO Saver a/c and have a few random observations:
- I asked for a £10 DD to start when I opened the account on 5th Nov. My memory is that it didn't allow me to then set up a regular monthly DD, though now that the £10 has finally arrived in the PO a/c (today, 11 days later) it does let me set one up. Maybe I just didn't follow the UI properly on the 5th (but see below).
- It took a few tries to set one up today - either I had to click on non-intuitive places in the UI or else the initial red NEXT button (having enetered the amount for a regular DD) was *really* slow to update the page. Not sure which.
So a bit flakey so far but we'll see how it goes. Now I want to open a 3-year Bond but it may be that each service (Saving, ISA, Bonds, etc) requires seperate registration. Hope not but the home page design does suggest that. *sigh*0 -
Ive just opened an issue 34 account & nothing unusual happened. DD set up ( although not yet showing against bank account but only been a couple of days)0

Tried opening an online saver account yesterday after martins email, got all green ticks for information but then multiple 'sorry there has been an error' message.
No idea what error as that's all the screen said.
Few hours later I get an email saying account is open to login use my account number and make a deposit before it gets closed... never received an account number as the error message arrived after 1st screen.
Certainly not impressed so far as I imagine this'll take some time to rectify when their customer services opens.0 -
Hi,
You can set up a regular payment into the account once the DD has appeared on your bank. When you first open the account you get asked to set up a one off payment.
I have just logged in and set up a regular payment.
1. Log in
2. Click the account you need, (three dots)
3. Click on Move money
4. Click on From Linked A/c
5. Input the details and dates
6. Confirmation page is shown
7. Return to home page
8. Log out of account.

I tried twice moving money from linked account not long after opening the post office account. Nothing happened.0

It takes 10 working days for DD to be set up, so if you are trying to pull funds from your linked account by this method that is the reason why. Once the 10 days has passed then it works ok.0
