security , yup a suicide bomber will pop back from hell to collect his NTK , 2 weeks later

this is one of JLA/vcs statements ,,,,,,,,security

Since neither Peel Holdings nor VCS (or any other PPC for that matter) are involved with LHR then I fail to see the relevance.

Its probably easier to say security rather than 'you selfish tw*ts are blocking the drop off area by waiting to collect somebody'

And easier than saying we've found a new revenue stream that we can maximise.

in that case the JLA case is even a bigger farce , as it covers ALL ROADS on the land

That's because they either belong to or control has been ceded to Peel Holdings

Terminals 2-5 are drop off only. I understand their reasons for preventing pickup since people do wait and they don't want that.

No. If waiting is the issue ping people for waiting not for picking up.

Not everybody has the common sense to wait away from the area until their passenger is there.

It would make more sense to make it like Stansted where you pay regardless of the reason for using the road past the terminal building.

BTW private cars have not been able to access the front of the terminal building at JLA for years. It has been taxis and buses only for a long time.

Why would it make more sense? We already pay for the tickets and the airport tax why should I also pay to get access to the airports via roads that have probably been paid for out of taxpayers money in the first place:mad:

I don't think so, however you can say that about any council car park but it makes no difference.

Airports are a private enterprise and they can charge what they like I cringe every time I go to HR everything is a rip off.

As already said the majority of pick ups are going to be drivers looking for wandering passengers so it takes time kerching!

As for the original question yes it is legal, and your are lucky they don't charge for dropping off.
