Doman Name Registration - 123-Reg

Hi,
I've had a Co.UK domain name for the last 15y or so that I just use for giving email addresses when signing up for things which is a nice way to manage whose selling my email address (ie when I start getting junk emails to my inbox addressed to barclaycard@MYDOMAINNAME.co.uk I know who I need to ring!!)
I haven't needed to renew in 3y and havng just got the renewal (and reading around a bit) I see prices have rocketed. I used to pay a few £ per year but its more like £30 per year with 123-reg right now.
I've never really looked at alternatives to 123-reg and I don't need any hosting - I just use the domain name for email purposes. To save me hours of learning whose who and what's what, is there anyone who does this type of stuff for a living who could recommend the cheapest place to port my domain name over to and register for the next few years?
Many thanks
Nick

Nominet hiked the prices up a few years ago for uk domains. The only way to get it cheaper now is intro offers.
That's fine if you want to the hassle of moving your domain around every couple of years.0 -
SIGH. Thanks for the reply0 -
If you're paying for 3 years at a time that will make the price jump seem more, though 123Reg are extortionate at the best of times . I wouldn't recommend them .
look at email pricing at namecheap and see how it compares. I use them for most of my .com domains. (though I always keep the domain reg different and separate to the email/ hosting business )- so I can't comment on namecheap reliability on that score.

Something is not right here. If I go to their website, it's £9.99 + VAT for a .co.uk domain renewal.0
