Proof of deposit for house purchase

Hi, my wife and I are first time buyers and have today had an offer accepted on a house (with having to move out of our rented place today its been a mental day!)
The estate agents have asked us for proof of deposit and mortgage in principle by Tuesday. The deposit will be made up by some savings we have and will be topped up by a gift from my parents. That gift is currently sat in their savings account with no plan to transfer it until we need the money to finalise the sale.
Will the estate agents accept a screen shot of my parent's bank account with a signed letter confirming they will be gifting the deposit alongside our mortgage in principle proof? Or do we need the cash in our bank account?

Thanks in advance for your help

Unlike solicitors, who need to verify at some point before exchange that your deposit is not laundered money, the estate agent isn't fulfilling any legal requirement by checking your deposit - they're simply working for the benefit of their client in checking that you're a serious buyer. Therefore what they'll accept isn't pre-defined, it's whatever you can convince them to accept.

    Worth offering as evidence.

you could also offer them your parents number or a letter from them confirming the money is to be given as a gift as a deposit on the house.
