Could you work out what the repair would cost, as a percentage of the sale price, please? It might help me make my mind up...

I'd also go for the element replacement - a generic part would probably be under a tenner and even the original manufacturer's part would be only around £20. Even if you got someone in to do it I doubt the cost would be anywhere near that of a cheap replacement oven.

I have found "eSpares" very good they are decent prices and often have short videos showing you how to fix the item in question.
