Hi Coupon-Mad, haven't been around for a while as I've been busy, I remembered about the thread and thought it would be polite to update you guys since you were so helpful.
So you may see it as a loss (Definitely not the optimal outcome), but I have an online business and December is my busiest month, so there was no way I could've risked taking a day off and losing hundreds of pounds and an increase in stress to go to court, so I decided to write an email to PE basically stating all of the major points in my argument and ending it with something along the lines of 'there isn't a chance in hell of you winning this case'. I then offered them £25 to leave me alone and drop the case, to which they agreed.
So I essentially paid them enough money to get their court fee back, but Im sure I wasted enough of their cash and time dragging it out as long as it did. They may have folded a few days later, who knows, but I couldn't have risked it. Morally I shouldn't have had to pay anything, but at least it wasn't £175 and if I didn't have a busy business to run I probably would have gone all the way.
So that was the outcome, again thanks for all the help, I've certainly enlightened myself on the process too.0 -
I think that is a win v Parking Eye - £25 is nothing and they certainly lost money over it.
And you learnt a lot about the scam and will know how to avoid these scams, and tell your family & friend how to fight them in the future!
:TPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
