I'd have thought £300-400 for that kind of job

We paid £320 a couple of years ago to move from a 3 bedroomed in the same town. Will be doing it all over again in a couple of weeks hopefully :)

Is it weight/volume of stuff that dictates the price mostly? How much does distance change the cost? Say you were moving that amount of stuff 100 miles....?
Why does Sherlock Holmes love Mexican restaurants? Because they give him case ideas.

We moved an amount of stuff (roughly) 250 miles, then lived in a small rented place for 4 years with significant stuff stored in the garage, then moved roughly the same amount of stuff about 10 miles.

Yes 4 years inflation but each time it was 4 blokes and a large removal van. The difference between the two was about £100, from memory. So distance didn't change the price that much.

    Just moved today, South East.

Three bed terrace to three bed semi. Three beds but bedroom furniture only for two people. Moved 0.6 miles.

Cost £440, three men and two vans. We did our own packing.

We paid about £100 for a van for the day to move down the road. Also got a couple of family members to stick a few boxes and a tv in their cars.
