30 day cancelation and PAC code

Hi all,
Just after advice.
I cancelled my rolling 30 day sim-only contract on Monday with t-mobile/EE and requested my PAC. I was told my contract would end in 30 days time (on 1st June) and PAC code would have to be used in next 28 days.
Does this mean that if I change networks now and give PAC code in today, my contract will be ended sooner than the 30 days and I will be fined by EE or given an early cancellation fee, or does it just mean that I am paid up until 1st of june and if I leave sooner I loss what I've paid for?
It's all very confusing and isn't explained well.
Thanks a lot,
Adam

If you use the PAC today your contract will end when the number transfers, normally next day, you may or may not still pay until the 1st June. Officially you will have to pay, but sometimes they don't charge beyond the use of the PAC, its a bit potluck.0

Hello,
Regardless of when you use your PAC code you would still pay your 30 days notice. So you can use your PAC code now or any time within the 28 days.

Thanks Jenny,
but would I have to pay a "cancellation fee" on top of my 30 day notice? Especially since I will be terminating my contract by using the PAC elsewhere within the 30 days? I am confused about this also.
Thanks0 -

I'm fairly sure that the answer is no, but I don't work for EE!0 -

The short answer is no.
What you should pay is the line rental for the 30 days notice, nothing more, you should NOT pay the line rental AND a termination charge.
What some networks do is charge you a termination fee, a fee that is equal to the remaining line rental, effectively charging you twice(you have probably paid line rental in advance already) but what should happen is they repay it in your final bill. But as if by magic they often 'forget' to repay the termination charge.
EE are particularly keen on this tactic, then pretend they haven't.0 -

Yep, the other contributors are right. As long as you use your PAC, you wouldn't pay anything further, just to the end of your 30 days. - Jenny“Official Company Representative
