hello everyone, just wondering if your able to help me.
so me and my husband have decided to do help to buy london, with our 5% deposit , we have applied for a mortgage with natwest through a broker named torc24.
our details had been sent over to natwest about 2 weeks ago and they have sent a surveyor out and everything was okay.
we had to wait until the end of the month for the extra documents they required which was both of our payslips for this month and a letter from our employers? anyone else had natwest request this ?
our broker has just told me that we are awaiting for natwest to decide now and should come back soon ... does anyone know the waiting time ? im literally biting my nails of here haha !

Why was en employer's reference required?
Short employment duration? Overtime or bonuses?
No-one can tell you how long it's going to take because we don't know why what was requested was requested.
Your broker should be managing your expectations. That's what we get paid for...I am a mortgage broker. Are you both in new jobs or something?
I have applied recently with them and had to provide last 3 months pay slips. They did not request a letter from employer for either of us.
Has your broker not provided you with your tracker reference number so you can keep track of everything yourself?
I'm in the same boat, Natwest said that it usually takes 48hrs once all paperwork is in to issue offer.....I'm a Board Guide on the Credit Cards, Loans, Credit Files & Ratings boards. basically i started my new job in march, but my other half's was for bonus purposes.
fingers crossed i find out soon ...0 -
no our broker has not given us any tracker details i did ask for them but apperently they was unable to provide them to me .... which i thought was odd.0

Don't worry about not having the tracker - its crap (even that's being polite), they take ages to update it.
Broker probably didn't give you it because you'd more than likely do what I did which is contact Natwest for updates as well as your broker. Which I learnt was a bad move!
Just trust your broker - if something come up, they're the ones that can fix it through the banks BDM's they work with

I found the NatWest tracker very up to date, and seemingly in real time.no our broker has not given us any tracker details i did ask for them but apperently they was unable to provide them to me .... which i thought was odd.
I just applied for my new mortgage through L&C with them in April. L&C didn't provide the tracker number initially, but NW live chat provided it to me no problem at all, meaning I could keep an eye on the application.
They needed a few extra documents from us too. From the tracker, I could see when they got loaded on their system and then assessed. It was about 48 hours from receiving them to assessing them.
You can look at the current timescales on the intermediary website.
http://www.intermediary.natwest.com/
Showing as of now that they're working on additional documents that were provided 1st May 2018.
If you're anxious to find out, from the main mortgage page on the website there's a live chat link and I found them very helpful. Our broker was useless for updates once the initial application was submitted.
There's sometimes a predilection on this section of the site for advising that you use the broker for all contact, but I found that cutting out the broker meant that I could get my updates sooner.
Hope this helps.Whilst my posts do not constitute financial advice, I am always, without fail, 100% right!

Another poster here who would agree with mrmajika's post. The Natwest tracker has been updated in real time every time I have used it.If you're anxious to find out, from the main mortgage page on the website there's a live chat link and I found them very helpful. Our broker was useless for updates once the initial application was submitted.

Also seconded. I wish we hadn't used a broker, ours was a 'vanilla' application and our broker has been useless.I'm a Board Guide on the Credit Cards, Loans, Credit Files & Ratings boards. Yeah obviously if it's a vanilla application the need for a broker can sometimes be quite low..
The information provided on the tracker is also quite vague? So I tried to just take it with a pinch of salt.
We needed a broker - and ours was really helpful. I found that when I contacted Natwest the person I spoke to would misinform me, then I'd ring up the broker nagging, and they'd already fixed the issues.
If you have a rubbish broker, well that's a different story isn't it!Finally completed on our new home
