Thomas Cook used JetBlue refusing compensation

Hi Looking for some help/advice. We booked flights with Thomas Cook Manchester to Barbados - return. Thomas Cook used a JetBlue flight ( we were not aware of that) from Barbados to connect with its own flight from JFK. JetBlue was late taking off due to taking on fuel and missing its slot - resulting in us missing connection and landing 22 hours late at Manchester. I used the Resolver tool and they've come back saying I should claim from JetBlue, however I feel its not my issue that TC used JB and as they are a non EU airline and it was a non EU part of the flight feel I'd have little chance. Has anyone had a similar experience? Thanks

Hi,
I'm a bit confused.
You flew from Barbados to JFK with JetBlue?
You flew from JFK to Manchester with TC?
What details are on your boarding cards or original tickets in terms of airline names?
Did you book direct through TC or through an agent?
Who did you fly with on your outward journey? If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide
The alleged Ringleader.........0 -
Hi Sorry I wasn't clear - Manchester - Barbados with Thomas Cook then return was Barbados via JFK to Manchester with the first leg flown by JetBlue then JFK to Manchester was Thomas Cook. We booked with Thomas Cook and (wrongly) assumed all flights were with them. The flights were booked direct with Thomas Cook. The Boarding Passes for the return flights were 2 separate passes the first for JetBlue to JFK the second Thomas Cook to Manchester. The perils of last minute booking I fear!!0

the delayed flight was Barbados to New York so non-EU airline delayed outside the EU so EU261 does not apply....it does not matter who it was booked through, it is the operating airline of the flight that would have any delay liability. Have you checked if your travel insurance covers anything for delays?0

Hi That's what I was fearing Caz but hoping that as my contract was with Thomas Cook they would have the liability... ah well time for the travel insurance option!!0
