Saw MSE have a good deal with Plusnet at the moment. I would like standard broadband with them instead of my BT infinity which runs out soon. Saves me a valuable £250 ish a year.... Plusnet told me this was not possible asI cannot go back to standard broadband, BT won't let me....Is this true? Why did I not know this ? What have I missed on the T and C's............???!!!

This seems to say it's a cease and provide

If you want to leave BT Infinity and join Plusnet ADSL , why are you talking to BT ?, if you move provider , it's the gaining provider that does the work, so if you want Plusnet, and Plusnet cannot progress the migration / downgrade, it hardly seems fair to blame BT on Plusnets failure0 -
My aged brain remembers a similar thread from some while ago; as per reply # 5, it had to be treated as a cancellation followed by a reprovide with a new line. BT Openreach/Wholesale systems are VERY inflexible!!0

There's going to be two discrete jobs involved - disconnecting from the fibre cabinet and connecting to ADSL kit at the exchange. Probably the OR system is so poor they can't be combined into a single job. Each job would be billed to a different ISP.0

Hmmmm Could be undesirable to Plusnet then?, but BT have told me 'no problem', at the same time offering a deal that's only £10 more than nonfibre instead of £20 (their previous 'best' price). Now contemplating as the basic plusnet deal includes free calls to mobiles whereas the BT fibre offers calls to mobiles half price. It's not so bad except you have to go through this for various insurances, recovery, utilities, savings accounts etc etc........... progress??0

Can be done in a single job, in fact is done all the time , provided the CP involved knows what they are doing, or more accurately, the customer service rep is sufficiently well trained to process the request0 -
BT is the parent company of Plusnet. Think of it as "BT Lite."I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.
