Hi All
I want to start a thread to highlight 2 illegal car scrap websites/businesses that operate in the London area..
http://scrapcaranytime.co.uk/
http://scrappyscrapcar.co.uk/
Both are run by an individual called John (or so he calls himself) with a contact number of 07841619963. He is of Irish traveller stock.
Neither have a registered address nor a company registration number.
They are wholly illegitmate businesses that do not have the legal right to scrap/dispose of your car.
Be warned and stay well clear.

Most probably a sole trader so they won't have a company number or registered address. Nothing unusual or underhand there.

And according to their terms and conditions they don't scrap/dispose of vehicles.
    2. BACKGROUND TO THE SERVICE
2.1. The purpose of the Service on our Website is to provide you with a Valuation for your Vehicle on behalf of our Approved Vehicle Collector.
2.2. We shall not, under any circumstance whatsoever, carry out the Collection, Salvage or Disposal of your Vehicle. Any such Agreement relating thereto shall be strictly between you and the Approved Vehicle Collector.

So seemingly a middle man between the consumer and scrapers.

Worth noting, though i suspect they merely strip the useful bits off / resell and then take the cars to a formal breaker.

Or just get paid a commission by the scrappers for finding scrap vehicles for them. Saves money on advertising.

Quite clearly you know nothing about this subject at all. You only have to have a registered business address and company registration number and be registered at Companies House if you are a Limited Company or PLC. If you are operating as a SOLE TRADER there is no requirement to register at Companies House so there is no legal requirement to have a registered business address or company registration number.

How do you know they're an illegitimate business? I could start a business today, call my business whatever it wants, register with nobody except HMRC as self employed and as long as I trade lawfully its not illegitimate.

If they are like many advertising on Facebook and they buy your scrap/old car and take it to a registered waste disposal site such as a scrap metal firm they are doing nothing illegal. If they have a waste disposal license and scrap them themselves they are doing nothing illegal.

May I suggest you go educate yourself about how businesses are formed and operate before slandering people on the internet? If you've made Facebook posts about this as people like you often do I suggest you remove them before YOU find yourself at the wrong end of a court claim.

Check out the fake reviews from Jessica Alba and the fake terms and conditions. :rotfl:

It's not legal to dispose of your car with some unregistered, unregulated third party. That's the law.

See my post #3 and why do you suggest their terms and conditions are fake?

It is about time you backed up some of your allegations with evidence don't you think?

You seriously think they are registered with HMRC? They're not the type of people who register with HMRC.
