no only that one missed payment. Seems really harsh if that's the case :-( I have no doubt my ex has bad credit, he's just the type. But we've been seperated years and as I said my mortgages went through no problems before.

Not unless his bad debt has only started. Just worried will they straight up decline or at least take it to the underwriters for a more informed look and decision

Have you made a full application with hard credit search, or are you saying you were declined at the decision in principle stage?

All you can do then is get those forms in with all 3 agencies and hope that they update within the next month or 2 and then try the DIP again to see if you get accepted.

I got a mortgage with NatWest last month while linked to my partner who recently had an IVA

I also have a sketchy payment history, thought it’s been good for around 2 years now.

The only thing different for me is that I only needed 20% LTV so maybe that overrides the other stuff.

I know (from my broker) that with NatWest if you are under 60% LTV you are in a different league to their other offers and requirements

But honestly I can’t see how your record can be this much better than mine and you still be declined. Definitely need to investigate that more

    Good luck

For that one late payment, did you paid within calendar month (i.e. before end of the same month)? I believe bank should not report if you paid it in same month.

The thing with my situation is childcare costs are high and apparently Natwest are the only provider to overlook.

However NatWest work internally. Childcare is going to be factored into their lending decision (i.e. the underwriter's). Not going to be ignored.

Sounds as if you up against affordability criteria if this is the only lender your broker can even suggest.

hey no i didn't pay until following month, my own fault. Hard time personally and its the absolutely only thing on my credit report in 13 years :-( Just seems really harse if this is the reason. Although apparently linked associates do play a big part with Natwest so fingers crossed now they have been removed all should be ok, should hear back today
