Can this TV socket be used for Free-view recording?

Hi there,
My new house has the following connector in the lounge...

In my current house, there are two "TV" plug holes meaning you can connect two wires into a Freeview recorder box.
I appreciate that with Sky recording, you would actually need two physical wires ran up to the LNB, but with this plug, would it not be possible to just plug in a doubler and then run two areal wires into the back of the Freeview recorder?

My current Youview Freeview recorder only has one aerial socket which the incoming aerial signal loops through to the TV.
I had an old Sony PVR which did have two tuners, but, again, you just looped one through to the other and then onto the TV.
You shouldn't need to use a splitter, but you could if you wanted to.0 -
as above.
I don't quite understand these face plates though.
Normally you would get a socket like the Radio one for the TV, but as you can see its different (the opposite end - Male). So you need a slightly different cable than your old house, or an adaptor0 -

I do a number of aerial installs and come across these plates more and more.
I agree that really the TV is the one that should have the female socket, as most people have a male to male cable to connect to their TV.
As you say, it is easily solved with a female/female adaptor.0 -
Thanks everyone, it all makes sense.0

Everyone seems to take at face value that what it says on the socket reflects what is behind it. On my last new build only the TV socket was connected. All the others were unterminated (ie no cable). The only way to find out is to test each output - even then, there may be some surprises!0

Was the same at my daughter's new build - no cabling to the sat. or radio terminals and the cable from the TV socket ,was neatly coiled in the loft space -but in a difficult to reach position! I suspect that builders just buy 100s of faceplates @ cheapest price.:)0 -
yeah they are optional extra's on new builds.
But if you can't see a dish on the outside wall, what do you expect?0 -

...but why install that style of socket then ? No way that you can retrofit as it means running cables behind the plaster board up to the roofspace.
As to optional extras ? If you are paying several hundred thousand pounds for a house, it seems penny pinching in the extreme, for the builders not to just install a basic aerial on the roof when they are finishing the build!:)0 -
yes I don't know how things work in the building trade.
It maybe a way to get more money out of buyers or a way for the new owner to customize the house they want and save money (I guess you pay less tax if the over all house price is lower)
Think these things are options:
Outside light
Alarm
Grass
Decking
Carpet
better kitchen
door bell
etc..0 -

You would find the socket and cabling is there, but only as far as the roofspace. It wouldn't just be the socket with no routing or cabling.
This was the situation in my new build - 2 cables for Sky, 1 RF for a TV aerial, 1 RF to take the sky picture around the house. All leading to bare cables in the roofspace.
Sky turn up and install a dish for free, and £150 ish gets an aerial installed. Builder's excuse would be that it's your choice.0
