WMS Group used car warranty - Avoid at any cost
This is a scam company. Stay away from them.
I had a problem with the AC system of the car. Went to a garage to get it fixed. Talked with WMS Group and the repair work was authorized. When I sent the invoice and service invoice for claim got a call back saying I have not followed the rules for service and the claim can not go forward. When I go the warranty the mileage was around 29000. I had the service done at around 40000 miles. My next service was due at around 50000 miles. As MOT is due on 5 May I thought that I would wait for a couple of weeks to get the service done along with MOT. I think this probably caused around 1000-1500 miles more than the due service mileage.
Now, I have paid £516 for the repair work. out of which the WMS warranty authorized £420. The person on the phone plainly told me that I have not followed the service schedule and he can not authorize the claim. I was trying to explain him that I am around 1500 miles more for a service but as I have to commute everyday I thought I would get the MOT and service done together. But, he would not listen. He just said I did not follow the rules and claim can not proceed. I had the premium Ultimate warranty for which I paid around £400. But, these crooks will not think it on case by case basis. They will try to find a way to deny the warranty. The person on the phone told me to go and read the book of T&C. Gradually, he got rude and aggressive and just cut off the phone.
I would suggest everyone to stay away from WMS group. I think the claim department is paid bonus for denying the warranty and the good reviews you see here are possibly paid ones. I would not have gone for the expensive repair had I known that they will deny my claim just for 1000 to 1500 miles. Also, my repair work was for AC system which I got serviced 6 months back which has nothing to do with the general service. But he would not listen and just kept telling me I did not follow rules.
This is a horrible bunch of people who are just trying to rip off people. Do not fall in the trap. I had read similar reviews before buying the warranty but was hard sold by the car dealer. Stay away from WMS group, keep the money in a repair pot and use it for the repair.
I am sure they will reply to this review giving their case that I did not follow the service schedule and that's why they did not authorize the claim. And I know that I was about 1500 miles more than due but how can they out rightly deny claim of £400 just for this. And even when the repair was not related to general service. Horrible experience. I lost £900 for £500 repair work.

I appreciate you are annoyed, but you surely cannot expect not to maintain a car correctly and have a £400 warranty pick up all the repairs ?0

So you don't adhere to the terms and conditions you agreed to when you bought the policy and now spit your dummy out when they won't pay out because of that?
Can you not see it's you who's in the wrong here? What's wrong with taking a bit of responsibility rather than trying to blame anyone but yourself?0 -
Terms & conditions are in place to protect both parties, manufacturers warranty requires vehicles to be serviced to keep you covered, to drive your car on the road legally you have to have a valid driving license and the vehicle must be mot!!!8217;d, all these terms are in place for a reason, if you fail to adhere to them you have only yourself to blame don!!!8217;t make it out to be someone else!!!8217;s fault.0

You exceeded the service interval by 15%. On some cars I've owned in the past 1500 miles would be 25%.
Commuting every day isn't a reason not to get it serviced. I commute every day, do 10-13hr shifts on nights and still manage to get my car serviced when it is due. A hundred or two hundred miles over wouldn't be an issue but 1500 is a demonstration of neglect and a blase attitude to vehicle maintenance. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. This guy has a point where the refusal of payment is concerned. The mileage of the car would of been confirmed by WMS before okaying the work. WMS new beforehand so really can't use that as an excuse not to pay out.0

I had a faulty thrust bearing. This was covered by the warranty. The car had 70000 mls on clock. After paying for inspection and new clutch, WMS asked for photo's and then diagnosed and deemed it ware and tare considering it had done that amount of miles. The garage said the bearing itself had failed and that the clutch had around another 20000 mls life still in it. I only paid for the whole clutch because it pointless just changing the bearing. WMS obviously have expert mechanics who can do a complete diagnosis from a photo - Well done idiots, today's prize is a free trip to the workshop to inspect my bearing. My advise - Stay well away from these rip off warranty people.0
