Well we have that 'cyclists' are a problem on the footpaths (most describing shared paths no doubt) and 'cyclists' are a problem on the roads.
    Wheres left?

No doubt? Pretty big assumption there. Actually it's a footpath that isn't wide enough for me to walk side-by-side with a 6-year-old, he has to walk slightly ahead or behind.

    Yes - cyclists!

Well I would suggest all the speeding,drunk/drug driving (add any others) motorists are a far greater issue.

The thing is with a car, a motor bike, or a horse I can be fairly confident I know what they are going to do.
With some cyclists and groups thereof they seem to do just what they like, when they like.
Take today, I'm on a motor bike on a gently meandering country lane, in front of me two cars, in front of them fourteen cyclists in twos and threes, impossible for the cars to pass.
I can see an opportunity to pass both cars and all the cyclists, but I know in half a mile there is a straight where both cars and I can pass the cyclists, and then I can pass the cars.
So I sit at 20 mph. Suddenly the lead cyclist realizes his right turn on to a footpath is only 10 metres away, so a cursory glance over his shoulder, a flap of his arm(I certainly didnt class it a "signal") and a shout to his mates and they all shoot off right, into single file causing light braking for the three with engines.
Thing is, had I decided to attempt the overtake, one of four things would have happened.
    1. the leader sees me and stops
2.the leader sees me and decides to carry straight on.
3 the leader doesnt see me, leads his band across my path and I run into them.
    4. the leader doesnt see me, leads his band across my path and I dump my motorbike in the ditch.

Yes, Horses renowned for their steadfast temperament.
cars and motorbikes, again stoic upholders of the law and highway code across the board.
Amazing the roads and road users many here seem to travel on seeing nothing but problem cyclists. Im obviously using the wrong roads as I seem to have the ones with all kinds of poor road users.
Did I miss a map update?

I almost always find horse riders to be really friendly and courteous.

Plenty of bad bikers and car drivers too, but they tend not to mooch about at 20mph (and less) thinking they are unable to ride on their own.
Why dont the ride in twos? Are they preparing for Darby and Joan coach outings?
