I had a 2010 3.0DS for 2½ yrs with similar mileage - generally reliable but I certainly wouldn't be running one without deep cash reserves or a bulletprooof (Jaguar Approved Used) warranty.

Cracking of the inlet manifold is a well documented issue - easily sorted under warranty but probably less so without

The DPF issue generally needs to be driven out - motorway blast as per manual and if you only just cleared it and then revert to previous style it can quickly return

Hindsight's great but at 97k miles I think you could have still bought a Jag warranty - I'd have been insisting on that in the deal then at least within year 1 you get to know and sort many of the issues

After 2 weeks the turbo started making a noise and again i told the dealer and i got the same response that its only a small problem.
On 6th of april 2018 i called the finance company i wanted to activate my short term time to reject as i was within the 1 month period. I told them the car has too many faults and is not of satisfactory quality considering the make and model of the car. I told them that all these faults within 3 weeks of buying a car which i paid £8700 for is not just good enough. The whole reason i bought the car was for peace of mind which the car is not.

Jaguar are below many ''inferior'' makes when it comes to reliability.

In fact, they came 29th last year out of 32 manufacturers.....below the likes of Renault and Dacia.

If you want a reliable car.......don't buy a Jaguar

  • I am surprised that anyone buys a 9 year old car with nearly 100,000 miles on the clock!
