Children’s savings account

Hi
I want to start saving for my child - around £120 a month and will be doing this until they are 16/18 (budget allowing!) .
Where is the best place to do this? Just a normal children’s account or is there something I can do that will mature when they are 18?
Thank you x

I would say posting this in Savings and Investments is better: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=170

There's also a Savings & Investment section on the main site.0

We have Halifax ones for our kids as they pay the best rates. That said we have had a few issues over the years and if it wasn't offering the best rate we'd probably move. Nationwide look good too.0

Find the best possible rate you can at the moment; but keep a close eye on rates and move the money as often as you need to to get the best rate. There are often one-year fixed rates (e.g. First Direct do one) which are really good; it's worth putting some of the money into one of those then moving it somewhere else. We did this for both our kids and I saw it as a bit of a game as well as an excellent long term investment.0
