Company paid for flights...can I claim??

So today I was meant to be travelling early morning for work. Flight due to depart at 7am and land at 8:45am, under 1500km, UK domestic flight.
Due to technical problems with the plane the flight was eventually cancelled. From what I gather it arrived last night with a fault, they shipped up a part and when it got fitted today it never fixed the issue which resulted in the cancellation.
In the end I have been rebooked onto a flight departing at 2:30pm and landing at 4:15pm, so no matter what, I am delayed by over 3 hours and looking online I am entitled to !!!8364;250 (£220) compensation.
However my company booked the flights and paid for them....so can I still make a claim? Or would any compensation go direct to the company as they paid for the flight even though my name is on the ticket?
Any advice appreciated.

I'd be asking this of your company - presumably there's a financial loss to them but some have different views on whether they're prepared to compensate the employee - sometimes depends on whether it's within the companies or the employees time0 -
The horses mouth eu reg ec 261:2004 says passenger is entitled to compensation, not who paid for the ticket.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Agreed. You as the passenger and NOT your company are due the compensation. Quite clear in EU261/2004.0

Brilliant thanks! It was more my time that was lost. Left the house at 5:30am this morning only to sit and wait until the flight was cancelled at 8am. The rest of the day was wasted as well though, so company lost out a little.
However if I can claim without having to involve the company it would be easier. Also, I!!!8217;m not complaining if I can get £220 out of the airline and I didn!!!8217;t lose anything like a holiday, just half a days work as I was able to get some work done in the airport while waiting for the next flight.
Will get the claim going and see how I get on.0 -
So that's your compensation - don't forget if you collected a receipt for reasonable food and drink costs you can submit an expenses claim too, if they didn't give you a voucher at the airport.0

Only you would be involved in the claims process. Whether you get to keep the compensation depends on the travel policy of your employer. E.g. my company's travel policy states that the company gets any values generated from travel paid by them. This would be things like bonus points and compensation.0

Bloody hell that's harsh!
I see any points/compensation I get as a well earned treat for the nights I spend away from home and none of their business.
I guess you don't bother claiming compo or joining any points schemes or do they expect you to? How would that even work when points are awarded to the individual?Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

It doesn't really. At least I've never had anyone ask me about the points I've earned on company travels, nor requested that I use them to book company flights. As for compensation, I've never actually been delayed on a business trip (long enough to be eligible for compensation) so the question never came up.0 -
Well I!!!8217;ve just put a complaint in via the MSE resolver link from the main site. Will see how I get on, however as long as the airline don!!!8217;t go informing my employer....I think I!!!8217;ll just not ask about whether or not I am due them the compensation. If they ask I!!!8217;ll be honest, if not, then it!!!8217;s mine.
In all honesty. I have no idea of my companies stance in this situation, so I!!!8217;ll just plead ignorance if anyone mentions it any comply fully if they say my contract states they are supposed to get the compensation.
