Hi
I got them to check ICICI as a bank. As far as I know it was an international check. When I gave them the details they were able to check a certain report that gives credit ratings. I never mentioned the UK aspect so would assume the credit rating applies to ICICI International.
Hope this helps.0 -

Yes, I've also made two transfers. The first for £10 which went through o.k., credited to ICICI and unlike JC1967 has been debited from my linked a/c. The second, and missing in action, is for £2700 which has been debited from current a/c but NOT appeared in ICICI a/c. I'm still awaiting the usual call back re this but from previous experience not expecting to receive one. Once the missing money is found I'll be transfering out and closing account.0 -

Hi OldAgeTraveller. Has your money turned up at ICICI yet? Did they offer any sort of explanation?0 -
charlieboycat - yes it did eventually. 9 working days later! During my 1st 'phone call to them about the missing money I was told that an initial transfer can take 8 working days. After I'd told her it was my 3rd transfer and the 2nd had taken 4 working days there was a long silence and then the stock answer promising a return 'phone call - which never happened or ever happens.0

Account opening is not getting any better. Five weeks to the day since my application started, and over three weeks since they cashed my cheque, and still nothing. And, as oldagetraveller wrote, promised return phone calls don't happen.
Edit: A little after posting this, I noticed the new thread and poll ICICI Applicants feedback required started by Martin.古池や蛙飛込む水の音0 -
After sending them an e-mail enquiring about the delay opening my account I recieved my user ID. Unfortunately the password in the post to go with this has not yet arrived. Thankfully The Derbyshire have let me open another Regular Saver Account and I've also opened a Bradford and Bingley account (whick only took about 5 days!).0

I've (at last) had the e-mail with user ID, and request for a £1 cheque which I suppose I'll send them, sooner or later. Not much rush now that the cahoot rate has been extended.0

I was pleasantly surprised today when I learned that the first transfer for £5 that I had initiated on Monday the 25th has got added to my available balance today itself, well in advance of the eight working days they say it takes. I double checked this with the agent to confirm it, and yes, sure enough, it has taken place. Now for the next test - my first big ticket transfer from Abbey to ICICI - hope it takes no more than the three working days they promise it does... Watch this space for more info - I plan to initiate this transfer on Monday, so technically, the funds should be available next Wednesday. It's always the grass that suffers, irrespective of whether the elephants are fighting or making love !!!0

Anyone sent the R85 form to ICICI and have they processed it (efficiently)?

cloud_dog, I sent off an R85 on the 24th June, shortly after sending my £1 opening cheque. I've heard nothing about it since and today I find the first interest has been applied to my account and, surprise surprise, it has been taxed - or at least I think it has as I have a separate withdrawal entry in my statement marked "20% CHARGE WITHHELD". I shall therefore be contacting them on Monday, as they've had over a month to process it.0
