Is it OK to change a part of the template that doesn't apply?

Many thanks to everyone who replied yesterday.
I'm now trying to put in my appeal on the Britannia website, and I'm getting this message:
"Unfortunately you are unable to appeal this charge at this time. Click here to return."
There is no explanation at all as to WHY I can't appeal.
Their letter/PCN says "All appeals must be received within 28 days from the date of our initial correspondence."
The letter is dated 3rd April so I'm within that, also I thought I had until 28 days after the date the notice was "given", which I calculate as 6th April (which also happens to be the date I received it).
The only option I can think of at this stage is to phone them up tomorrow and ask why I can't appeal, but obviously I don't want to do that. So I'm a bit stumped. Any ideas?
(Also tomorrow I'm planning to take someone with me to take photos as I drive in, showing that you literally can't even see the notices - plants, other signs etc in the way - never mind read them while driving. I haven't yet fully researched the POPLA business but I know photos are required.)0 -

Luckily, we are here to stop you doing that. NEVER NEVER PHONE A PPC.
Email the BPA with a screenshot showing the date you get that message, and also show them the date of the letter Britannia sent and ask them to investigate why the AOS member is not allowing an appeal to be submitted in time.
You already have the email for the BPA from the NEWBIES thread post #5.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I've just been saving screenshots of just the Britannia window, with stuff like my bookmarks etc blurred out, but I hadn't thought about proving the date. (But surely a screenshot showing the system date and time doesn't *prove* anything more than that I know how to set the date and time on my computer?)
When you say "show them the date of the letter" do you mean literally send them a scan, or just tell them the date?0 -

Attach a scan of Britannia's letter to your email complaint because the BPA will want to see that and the (screenshot) proof of the date you tried to appeal, so they can see that 28 days has not been allowed.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Right, I've done that; I also included a scan of the envelope which was clearly franked 4th April, the day after the date of the letter.
Presumably it will take the BPA a week or so to get back to me, so I suppose I'll have to try submitting the appeal again tomorrow.
Are they allowed to start the 28 days for appeal from the date of the letter, given that they didn't post it until the day after, and I received it two days after that?
It's interesting their website states that "I didn't see the signs" is not a valid ground for appeal - I've been to the store to check things out and the sign saying you're on camera/ANPR is only visible on the way OUT of the car park, and there is NO point at which it is straight ahead of the driver (it's on a corner).0
