Will I be charged if a bond is held on my credit card

Hi, I am soon off to Australia, I am looking to do campervan relocations during my trip.
I have read up on the T&C's and seen that the companies charge $1000 bond on my credit card, I know I will get it back, But if I have a card that is 0% on purchases do I pay any fee for the $1000 bond? Or will I have to pay a overseas fee no matter What? I also have heard of people posing even more money due to currency conversion rates? As $1000 isn't £1000 when converted back?
Thanks

Do you mean by 'bond' that a deposit is taken and then paid back to your card, or that a pre-authorisation is made, not actually taking the money (If all goes well)?
What do you mean by 'fee / overseas fee'? Do you not have a credit card that charges no fees or exchange markup for overseas use?Evolution, not revolution0 -
Thanks for the reply, well on the T&C's it says they take $1000 deposit then return it, so with the broad wording I'm not sure if they do actually take it out or "hold" like you said (pre authorisation).
And no i don't have a credit card with no overseas charge, but have since found a few, so I'm thinking that might be the way forward and assume I don't lose money with the currency difference.
Thanks for the quick reply0
