If anyone can suggest how I can search I'll really appreciate it. I saw an ideal looking short coach tour from Glasgow based near or in Manchester. It included dinner, bed and breakfast and two trips - one to Cheshire Oaks and one to The Trafford centre as well as coach return to Glasgow.
I was kean to book as I would love a short trip like this in August.
Unfortunately this short coach trip (Caledonian Travel) only runs in November and December - for Christmas shopping.
I tried Trip Advisor but did not manage to ask the right question. If another forum would be best would you please redirect me?
If anyone can help me to find or search for a suitable similar short coach tour from the Glasgow area, or any recommendations, (I would be just going on my own) I would be so pleased, thank you.

National Express do not operate in Scotland - its Caledonian Travel.
What about getting the the train down to Manchester and then booking the 2 trips separately?Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0 -
Superbreaks do Glasgow to Manchester by rail!Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0

If you know which hotel they were using, it could be worth contacting them and asking how easy it is to get to the places you want to go to and whether they have any excursions available.Signature removed for peace of mind0

Thanks very much - I will check although I don't think they do this tour. I've been on tours with David Urquhart before and enjoyed them.
I have just looked at the coach fare - it is very reasonable and quite quick too, thanks.

I could look into that and it is an idea - I am very happy doing it on my own although it is nice having the evening meal in the company of others. Thanks very much.

Caledonian Travel, for November and December, say they advise of the hotel seven days before departure.
If I 'do-it-myself' any accommodation in central Manchester (maybe small hotel or guest house) would be fine. I must say the coach tours make it very easy.

Thanks for all these ideas - I appreciate your replies - plenty to look at.
I am surprised how very reasonable and quick the coach is. I'll search to see if it is possible to get to these outlets by public transport from Manchester then, if no coach tour, I'll look for a guest house with an evening meal - a bit less daunting than being alone in a large hotel.
That's my homework for the next week or so - thanks again for the helpful replies.

I don't know if you'd find Luther King House to your taste? It's comfortable, and I think you'd find it friendly. Not high end, our room was ready for refurbishment.Signature removed for peace of mind0
