Lost all photos etc

i have by mistake reset my laptop to factory settings,i have lost all photos.documents,music etc.tried all i know with no results,my laptop i a samsung,i was running windows 10 iam now back to windows 7

    are you docs backed up to onedrive? have you not got any backups of your data anywhere else (cd, flashdrive, old pc etc etc)?

    yes,but there were a lot more on my laptop that were not on my phone.

    You might be able to recover some with software such as Recuva:
    https://www.ccleaner.com/recuva

    If you want the best chance of recovering data, you should avoid booting or running any software on the drive (i.e. connect it to another machine).

    All I can suggest is - do nothing else with the laptop.

    Remove the hard drive, and connect it to another machine, either via USB caddy, or as a secondary drive in a desktop, then use Recuva or similar recovery software to access anything which may remain.

    Sadly they probably are serious, we see it often enough on here (and I know plenty of people in the real world who have never done a back up). Of course, we know what that makes those people, but we can't describe them on here without getting in trouble :D.

    to be fair there is nothing of great importance lost other than some photsos,my music was all on my phone,i did do a back up to a cd/dvd in 2016 but when i inserted it nothing had happened.i will try the route posted above.
