I've got the Vodaphone SU6 myself from when they launched it but it's been superseded now. Still a decent phone for my usage but it only got to Android Jellybean, so if having the latest and greatest is important to you then you may want to look elsewhere.

What sort of usage do you expect out of a smartphone?

If you can still get a Smart Ultra 6, I would say go for it. I've had one for a couple of years and it has had all kinds of use including being used as a GPS in the car. It's now a standby phone for nights out and weekend breaks to European cities.

It's been reliable and the battery still seems to be OK. The camera is reasonable, and what you would expect for that price bracket.

My battery is starting to lose charge faster sadly, I've had it for getting on 3 years, I can't decide if that's decent or not. Hopefully it doesn't accelerate the decline too quickly.

3 years is a good life for a battery, many manufacturers consider their lifespan to be 12-18 months.

The Moto G5 is a good option. If you go via topcashback, hopefully you will get £45 back.

Moto G 5 series suffer from a lot of unresolved problems, doing a google search on that subject will reveal many reasons not to by a Moto phone since Lenovo took them over.

Not had one personally but have seen comments directed at the Plus version more than the standard version. I've got a Xiaomi and would recommend them, but they are not for sale from UK retailers.
