Poppy, good luck with your decision making. I think if you are doing it for the right reasons it will be easier. My S-i-L decided to downsize so that she could give some money to her son and his family and spent time looking at flats and bungalows, she realised when she found the perfect place according to her wish list and was still finding fault with it that she really didn't want to move. Her son didn't need the extra money particularly either.

I feel a bit better today but still tired, I get so annoyed that I can't do more without wiping myself out for days, it seems so pathetic.

DH is at the gym but will be home soon, I think I want to go out somewhere but I don't know where, I'm feeling a bit hemmed in. It's too gloomy for a walk and I don't really want to spend any money.

    Morning all

Dull and over cast here and rain due later on, I have done one wash load and another is in the wm now, some is on the airer and the rest will have to go in the td later.

Have showered already this morning and im just waiting for OH to get back with a fresh loaf so we can have poached duck eggs with avocado :T on toast, the eggs are from the security man at work (well his ducks !!) and are huge and very tasty.

Not sure about dinner tonight as its our 'posh' dinner night so will get something nice while out shopping today, maybe some scallops for a starter, I love having the time to cook a nice meal at the weekends.

Going to hoover through and mop the floors after this, I have bitten the bullet and got a cleaner coming round Monday to have a look at the house and have a chat, I would like her to come once a fortnight for two hours and do right through the house (if she thinks this is enough time ). With us all working full time we seem to spend at least one day a weekend cleaning and shopping, if we can cut some of this down it would be fab, so will see what she says.

Right better get on, have good days all .

TA enjoy your new kitchen, I love the bit where you put everything back and decide where its all going, its my favourite bit :o

Good morning chums its a rainly day here in Kent as well and according to the weather its here until around Wednesday ,but it saves thinking about having to water the garden at least and the rainwater is free and my tap water is on a meter so win-win :)

I had a late breakfast as I am off for a cuppa and some cake at my friends 70th birthday this afternoon I shan't have a great deal as I am out tonight to my eldest DDs for dinner. Her ma-in-law Margaret is coming down from London for the weekend so we will have a good knit and natter tonight as we get on very well together. She seems to be coping OK at the moment with widowhood but its early days .

Tomorrow I am out to dinner at youngets DDs as usual so not a lot of cooking here at chez nous.:)

Hope everyone has a good weekend despite the wet weather

    Take care chums

    Good morning everyone :hello:

Sorry to buck the trend but it is actually quite sunny here this morning. Steve is planning on cutting the grass if the rain stays away and then he has to help Becky build a robot arm this afternoon. He is especially in my good books as he has just cooked me some dippy eggs and soldiers and a delicious cup of tea :D.

I am going to make butter chicken and rice tonight for dinner with some lovely runner beans and broccoli. Steve is cooking roast lamb on Sunday so we need to remember to take it out of the freezer.

I nearly fell off my chair this morning as Phoebe, quiet, nervous and anxious Phoebe has only gone and arranged a job interview at a local cafe :T:T. I couldn't be more proud of her if I tried. I don't even care if she gets the job or not, the fact that she sorted it all out herself and has taken herself down to town for the interview is utterly amazing. I hope this will be a big boost to her confidence and will lead to bigger and better things for her.

Becky is also doing a lot better after a wobbly few days. She is getting herself up in the mornings now instead of staying in bed for hours and she is motivated to get on with her school work. We had a surprise visit from a teacher from her school the other day to check up on her as a safeguarding issue. I am not sure yet what we are going to do with Becky education wise but the school are going to email her more work for now to be getting on with at home.

The grandchildren are off to an all day party at a theme park today so we shall probably see them tomorrow now. Hopefully their mum will pop in as well as she has been very busy at work this week so I haven't really spent any time with her.

TA, great news about your kitchen, hope you enjoy getting everything straight x
snoozer, you are not being pathetic, just try and rest as much as possible and hopefully your energy will return soon, meanwhile have a hug xx
poppy, wow that is a big decision, hope you find the perfect place and good luck with the clear out xx
AOD, another marmite and toast lover here, have you tried marmite and peanut butter on toast, it is lush x
holly, I hope you mange to find your paperwork soon, it is so annoying when you put things 'safe' only to forget where they are x

Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx

    Morning all,

    Chucking down here.

Microwaves. If it wasn't for reheating Grumps meals i wouldn't need one. Mines a combi thing (not my choice) but I've never used it as such. I'd much prefer a bigger counter space.

    Onwards and forwards

    Have a great day all

Well, let's start with HUGE Congratulations Phoebe :T:T:T

Holly when I lived in Oxfordshire I had neighbours like yours - yelling matches that the entire close could hear whether they wished to or not. One didn't know whether to feel embarrassed or amused sometimes!

TA enjoy your new kitchen; I hope you manage to get to grips with all the new appliances. Luckily, we didn't need to replace anything other than the cooker when we had ours done, and that was bad enough.
I agree about the complicated manuals. I mean, if a computing professional who also has a Degree in mechanical engineering and a Mensa member between them can't figure out an appliance, I'd say the manual needs re-writing in Plain English!
My DW is easy to deal with - just feed it cups of tea! (My DW is actually Mr LW in case you hadn't realised) ;)

Honey the Shih Tzu will be here at about 14:00; she's just staying overnight this time, and she has a 2-week holiday with us in June. I don't know how she feels about walkies in the rain - I guess we'll find out! :D
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
