Never heard of them... PC4200 RAM though is too slow in my opinion.
I would say it's maybe a little on the expensive side in general to be honest.
E6750 - £120
320MB 8800 - £175
2GB RAM - £50
DVD Drive - £20
The 5.1 channel sound will be on-board
20" monitor - £125
Keyboard and Mouse - £10
PSU - £40
XP or Vista - £70 (avoid Vista Home though)
Case - £20
Motherboard - £50
I reckon you're paying around £100 for them build it in this case which I don't think is good value. It's not a bad deal but it's not great.
I would say lower the processor and up the RAM speed to at least 5300 or better still 6400. If they'll do that then yeah it's probably a decent deal.0 -
Arbico PC - shame they skimped on the RAM when the difference in cost between 2GB PC4200 & PC6400 is probably only £20. Monitor seems poor too - not for gaming anyway. Is there any way to drop the screen & get something else? Do the same with the RAM as well, if possible. I agree with Psychofly - not the best deal. Never dealt with this company btw.
Another alternative (some DIY required) - you can configure these Dell Vostro 400 MTs (click on the Vostro 400 MT tab)....
- An example to about the same spec (E6550 & 250Gb), but a 22" quality monitor for £551 (incl VAT & del - they're offering free del at the moment). Don't forget to change support to 'Base Warranty - 1 Year Business Hardware Support'
- Add a 8800GTS, PSU (for graphics card upgrade) & 2.1 speakers off eBuyer for ~£250 (185+45+20)
- Get 5% Quidco cashback on price of Dell (before VAT) - value of £23. Total so far = £778
- Sell the 8600GT off for say £45 on eBay. Grand Total = £733 (or £773 with an E6750). G
