Right, first off, many thanks to Cranky and Meanmarie for confirming that Irish plugs are like English ones.
TA is your new over gas or leccy? Three years down the line I still have trouble getting to grips with the gas oven we had installed (at Mr LW's insistence - his reasoning being if we have a power cut we can still make dins). I usually bottle out and use the Panny combi (sorry Csarina) but today I'm going to make myself use the gas oven to make Shepherd Spy and goosegog crumble.
Camelot oh my, that made me go all cold just reading of your procedure - how beastly to have to go through it again.
Speky oh what a shame you've had to take a raincheck on your date; I'm sure it will be worth the wait, though.
Judi it's amazing how dogs can be bought off with a well-timed biscuit treat. I meant to post, too, that they look like beautiful dogs.
Lainey have a lovely time in Cornwall. I've only ever visited once, when I was a kid, and don't have good memories of it - maybe Mr LW and I should have a holiday there (next year perhaps?) to lay those ghosts to rest.
Well I'd better go and start some food prep - topping'n'tailing goosegogs takes me an absolute age; I'm hoping Mr LW can tear himself away from his console game long enough to cut onion, carrots and spuds for the Shepherd Spy, as I'd like to keep all my fingers. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Csarina did you pay for your microwave with a credit card? I'm sure there are others here with better knowledge, but I thought you could claim from the credit card company , think it's called section 75If you walk at night no-one will see you cry.0

Afternoon.
The weather turned out to be glorious in Glasgow with a wee breeze too. DM very happy with the NHS podiatrist, she was much more proficient than the private practice one of before. The trip to the Dark Side was easy enough, just the other side of the Clyde Tunnel. I hate, loathe and detest going through river tunnels but it's a long way round to avoid it!
DM wanted to get some veggies so it was a trip to W aitrose, me in the corner of the cafe and her bumbling her way round. Of course, it was much quieter than our usual Saturday morning visits which was lovely. She bought a load of very heavily reduced bakery goods - Rankin Irish tea cakes down to 10p for four and croissants down to 19p for four. Her freezer will be stuffed. :rotfl:
Now she's worn out and I'm going to do some reading.
Happy evening to all.0 -
Evening all ( Dixon here
)
Phew we have had 2 busy days. Yesterday I forego my afternoon nap and everything on my list was done, including the painting, which we were intending to do today. We worked until 7pm then collapsed, bed was at 9 and both of us slept very well last night. I was quite stiff this morning though from getting up and down the ladder doing the painting ( couldn't use the step stool as I'm too short, so Mr Fix It used those. )
Today we have put the lounge and the dining room back to usable, the curtains have been put up around the patio doors and the furniture replaced. If anything wasn't nailed down it has been moved and cleaned to within an inch of it's life :rotfl:. Did some de-cluttering too ( got Mr Fix It to sort out some electrical / computer stuff ) and some items have been either binned, replaced, recycled or re-homed in another room ( or shed ) :j. I hope no one looks in the office yet..... that's a job for another day. Tomorrow the kitchen gets it !
.
Tea tonight was lovely, leftover lamb curry and rice. Seems to always taste better when it's been in the freezer.
Gers enjoy your new car.
TA nearly there. I agree that the dust gets everywhere.
Camelot rather you than me _pale_. Sorry that's not very helpful especially as you have to go back. Please accept many hugs.
Lainey have a lovely time.
Nelski fingers crossed your op will happen this time. Enjoy your dinner tonight.
Speky I hope we didn't put the kybosh on your date.
Poppy belated birthday wishes
tiredmum welcome to S Wales tomorrow. I hope the weather is better as we have had rain all day
MMarie hope your tablet starts to behave itself.
Scarlett Mr Fix It wants a Ka*cher vac now for the patio doors. Mind you he'll clean anything if he has a gadget to do it.
Holly I'd gladly swap cleaning your windows for doing my ironing :rotfl:. Hope you enjoyed your salmon, I like mine plain, drizzled with butter with a jacket potato or new potatoes and peas/salad.
Hope everyone has had a good Friday ( I keep thinking it's been Saturday today)
Hugs to anyone who wants/ needs one. Take care.
