Morning hello.gif

Camelot Sorry you have to go back again, I really hope that'll be the last time for you xx

Holly I'm going to have to take Scampi on exciting adventures so I'll have more stories to tell :D

Yes this is the house of Bird !!!!!!, the Good Dog and (sorry to some of you!) a Family Of Slow Worms :D And a crested gecko called Harry (but sometimes Tim). I have a photo of him somewhere, climbing up a bottle of wine, if I find it I'll post it on here. We had a tarantula for a short while, the owner (who I no longer talk to) couldn't be bothered with her anymore and was just going to put her outside to live in the wild  I took her and kept her til I found a home for her. Had no idea what I was doing so had to learn fast, lol. The slow worms have a nest somewhere near the back door, they mostly evade Scampi but he has caught two. The second time I was actually yelling at the poor thing to “shed your tail – SHED IT!” and I think it heard me because it did :D I won't describe it because some of you won't want to hear it, but it completely confused Scampi and his attention was on the tail while the slow worm escaped, lol.

Scampi didn't try to embarrass me yesterday by ignoring me, lol, but he pulled hard on the lead. He DID NOT bark at a new dog, even though he was on his lead at the time. He was fab at the park and kept going to mum then trotting ahead and back again, I think he was showing her where we had to go :D

I'm not sure what's happening today, it's mr tru's day off and there's no point planning things because he just gets in the way, lol. It's raining so the only thing I have planned is a dog walk, I'll probably catch up on my recorded progams and crochet some cushion covers.

• Morning all,

Blue skies and sunshine in Glasgow (for a change).

My excitement yesterday for getting back on the dating scene was short lived. She grew up about 100 miles from me and her family are coming to visit this weekend, along with her brother in the RAF - so I suppose I'll let her away with it. We'll re-schedule. She seems like a lovely girl.

No plans this evening. Not sure what I'll get up to. Perhaps go another run. In fact - I've got washing to do too.

HH - Have you time for both...?
Camelot - Deary me, i got shivers thinking about that. I hope you're feeling ok today.
• Morning everyone :hello:

Holly - I agree with Gers, it's worth asking if your cleaner would do the insides too. I'd advise you to follow your heart with a book and a walk, sounds lovely.

TA - I've still not quite worked out our oven a year after moving in here. Couldn't work out how to change the clock to BST a few weeks ago, must dig out the manual which is around somewhere! Luckily the clock on the microwave is correct and is just above the oven, so I'm not late going anywhere!

Gers - hope you enjoy your drive to the South Side in your new car

Judi - your dogs are lovely, have they forgiven you for their bath? I'm originally from the West Midlands (moved away for work) and I think you're in that area?

nmlc - hope you get your chill time, you always sound so busy!

camelot - you sound braver than me, sorry you have to go back for more

My brain can't remember any more but hope everyone is ok.

Well it's Friday but very rainy here. Last week I went home and sat in the garden in the sunshine, sadly not this week. Had parents to visit last weekend, and the other set will be over next weekend, so hoping to relax a bit for the next couple of days!

Have a good day all :)

Morning

Tru good to see you back with scampi tales :)

Camelot ouch that sounds awful and you have to do it again  hope the next person gets it right

Gers Loving the new car :)

Finally got my date for my hip op after all the HRT malarky its not till the 29th May which is a bit disappointing but at least I know where I am now. I have been booking work blindly hoping I would be able to do it ....as it stands only one is a somewhat dodgy as its only 2 weeks post op and Im not sure where Ill be recovery wise ....they say 6 weeks but Im afraid I cant afford 6 weeks off. Anyway it does mean I will be able to go to a spa weekend with the girls that I thought would be cancelled and a conference I have paid for but expected to cancel.

Off out for dinner tonight to my fav indian again its early doors as my friend is a cake maker so the only time you can get with her is the bit when her cakes are cooling before she decorates :D Wish I had her energy levels thats for sure.

Need to get back to my plan to organise the house before my op ...you know the one where cupboard cleaning and decluttering seemed very important :D I think its in case I don't come back and some poor soul has to go through my knicker drawer :rotfl:

Anyway have a good day all :A
• Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

My flipping combi has started playing up again. I am going to ring Panasonic again, when you try to start it, the message keeps coming up, 'close the door' when the door is closed, then it switches itself off halfway through cooking. The clock is not right either, the bottom half of the figures are still missing. Its is still just under guarantee. This is the first panasonic I have had any trouble with.

A dull morning, it is supposed to rain, must admit the sky is very grey, need to get out and pick rhubarb before the rain comes.

We are off to see our friends this afternoon for tea and a catch up. I need to take some rhubarb with us. We gave them a root of rhubarb last back end, but it will not fruit enough to give them a decent amount this year.

OH is in the last week of having his drops in thank heavens, its a tedious chore, but must be done.

Fish and chips tonight, depending on how much cake we eat supper may be late!!

Sorry to have been missing for a while. My birthday was last Saturday and I have been thoroughly spoiled by friends and family. Youngest son has returned from NZ and has started his new job. He has left his wife and children out there so she can nurse her Mum, not an easy situation but it will mean he can really concentrate on work. Pouring down here again, scuppering any chance of gardening. Looks like a day of mainly reading and knitting.

Happy belated birthday, Poppy.

Camelot, poor you. I had a blocked tear duct treated when I was a few days old apparently, I dread to think how small the needle had to be for that.

Speky, what a shame, you'll probably want to keep the rearranged date from us nosy lot.

I'm enjoying looking out on a neat garden even if it is raining. Those f you who love gardening won't understand but shall we say our talents lie in other directions.

I'm feeling very tired and sore today, probably having overdone i in said gardenso I shall take it easy today.

Judi the dogs look really sweet, I hope that they have forgiven you by now.
Thank you.... their forgiveness is easily bought thankfully. A couple of food treats and a cuddle is all that is needed.... however, i dont forgive myself as my vacuum is still kaput and theres dog hairs everywhere.
there is a clock symbol on my new hob so I presume that means there is a timer? I doubt I will ever need to use it so am ignoring it. As long as I can heat the rings up and turn them up and down that's all I need to know!
Never use my clock on my oven. Grump has shown me over and over again how to use it but its easier to use the clock on my microwave so i forget what he tells me.:o

Camelot how awful. Didnt they offer you any entonox?.... you know the stuff they give you when your in labour. If not, ask for it next time. They may oblige. If not, they should. Love that stuff i do.:rotfl:

Speky I want your blue skies. Its hammering down here. Bad news about the date hopefully she will reschedule.

Emma My hounds have short memories if food is offered. Yes Im in the West Midlands, Halesowen to be exact. Small world eh?

Poppy welcome back.

Onwards and forwards,

have a great day all.

• Clear the decks for a rant..........

I have a panasonic combi microwave, having has 3 previous combi's of thiers and also breadmakers,I had no problems with buying another microwave. It developed a fault and had to be collected by their agent, when it returned the fault was still there. It has now developed another fault. It keeps asking for the door to be closed, when it is closed and then switches itself off or refuses to start.

I consider this is not fit for purpose and have asked Panasonic to replace it. They have refused to do so. I have no confidence in the repairers, but Panasonic refuse to let me send it anywhere else. It is still under guarantee so the work is being undertaken under that.....to say I am not happy is putting it mildly.

I do wish that they would staff customer service with people who speak good English. It is very difficult to understand someone whose first language is not English and has a strong accent.

If any one asked for reccys I always recommended Panasonic, I have had their products for over 25 years and never had a problem till now. I view of the fact that this repair may not be the last I have extended the warranty, just in time the 12 month Warranty runs out next Monday.
