Morning, I've been up since 4 as usual. This time it was because the upstairs smoke alarm battery is getting old (like me) and doing intermittent beeps. I need to persuade OH to do something about it. Otherwise I'll have to sleep in the spare room with the ironing.
Hello Emma.
Tru that's such a difference over the time you've been telling us about Scampi.
TA - wahey!
Happy new car Gers.
Speky, how exciting, hope it goes well, sure it will, you are such a kind young man.
Holly your days are sounding good.
Camelot, all good wishes.
Bet I've left someone out, or more likely, several people.
I'm doing paperwork at home today, I'll start soon. I call it paperwork but really it is laptop work. I work much faster without distractions even if the distractions are nice ones including chatting.
Hope everyone has a good day. It is sunny here and if it us raining where you are, I hope it doesn't do it all day long. I know summer is on the way, I saw a wasp !!!55357;!!!56866;I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -

Everyone seems to have been up with the larks this morning
Its lovely and sunny here but a chilly breeze Dolly has been walked and had fun chasing her friend Bailey round and round the park she is now snoozing
Well I couldn't stand this cold weather anymore so i have booked us a holibobs in Feb to Jamaica we have been before and it is the one place the whole family have said that they would return to in a heartbeat so happy xmas DH and DS its going to be a surprise for them. I have asked Mum if she wants to go and she has said she may come the thing is she has never seen white/pink sand and clear seas in the caribbean and i would love for her to see it
Tru wow scampi is coming on really well all the hard work is paying off i am glad he has friends Dolly is the same she has her friends and enjoys being with them but is very wary of new dogs she does have one major nemesis though and nearly strangles herself when she
sees her.

Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one. Welcome to our newbie.
A nice morning so far, but rain is forecast, hey ho. No news re the wetroom floor, I had an email from someone who also lived in a council property, it appears that some councils are not as good as others, they needed the bathroom replastering, the council did the walls but not the ceiling!! talk about half a job. I do have to say MBC are excellent for doing jobs in the main. I did have to fight a bit to get the wetroom and heating done but as far as repairs are concerned they are good.
TA - glad your kitchen is almost finished, I envy you your dish washer!!
GERS - enjoy the car.
I am taking a neighbour into town today to get an xray, so thats my afternoon taken care of. Need to cook a pan of stew for tonight.
I put everything back into the hall cupboard yesterday, sorted the drawers, things that should be in the shed kept getting shoved in there, and there is quite a bit of stuff that got thrown out or put on one side for R. I also stripped down and cleaned the fridge. Need to wait for the freezer bit to be a emptier before I do that. No real plans for the morning, might go out and do the edges at the front. I need to weed kill, we have weeds coming out of the side of the new lawn.0 -
Morning all :hello:
Thanks for the welcome, I think I'll like it here
Holly - your beef bourguignon has given me a craving! I hope you have a lovely time with your friend this morning.
TA - Sorry you have had a rough night worrying, hopefully you can soon start to enjoy your new working kitchen
nannywindow - Sorry you've not had a great night either, hope you get your nanna nap later
Gers - happy new car day! How exciting :j
Tru - thanks for the coffee, now I need to admit I'm not a huge fan, any chance I'm allowed to swap it for a tea?I love reading about Scampi, I think you've done wonders with him, hope he behaves for your Mum to see!
redruby - glad the memorial went as well as it could have, beach and ice cream sounds like a lovely send off to me
camelot - best of luck for the procedure
Left lots of people out I'm sure but that will have to do for now as I should really get some work done! Got a short course on finance to attend this morning. Not something I do directly for my job but we have a manager leaving and I think I'll be asked to take on some tasks so no harm in getting a bit of basic knowledge.
Not as warm as it looks but the sun is out so hoping I'll get chance to have a break outside at some point too.
Have a good day everyone :cool2:0 -
Morning everyone and another one here who has got to the party a bit late, bit of a rubbish nights sleep and didn’t get up until 8.
Welcome MSEmma pull up a chair and have a natter.
Woohoo on the new car Gers my fav colour for cars is red but current one is black, not sure people always see it
Hey TRU and great news on Scampi, your perseverance has really paid off my friend.
Hope all goes well today Camelot.
Dry, bright and sunny here today, last few bits to do before we are off to Conrnwall tomorrow, soooo looking forward to it as haven’t been to the West Country for years, only downside is leaving Lu behind but know she will be well looked after and will probably enjoy being a field ornament for a week.
Will pop out this morning and get a few fresh bits to take with us, tomorrow is also DOH’s birthday so have some pressies to wrap.
Right, better get going, have a good day folks x0 -
Good morning all
Thank you for starting us off Holly
Hello MSEmma
Gers enjoy your new car
TA I have kitchen envy,
Speky I'm sure all will go well with your date, just be yourself
Camelot hope all goes well for you
Sorry if I have forgotten anyone
Visited mother, lift now working at the care home and she's talking to me. Took her a slice of homemade cake and she said I must have bought it. Not sure how to take that, still talking is progress.
Today looks nice so will go out for a coffee, don't really need any shopping.
Line dried the laundry yesterday but was running, well walking, bringing it in and the putting it out again between showers.
Hope you all have a good dayIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.0 -
Lainey, have a lovely holiday, I hope the weather improves.
Tru, well done to you and Scampi, you must be so proud of him.
We managed to do some more work on the garden before the rain started so I want to get on with that this morning and DH wants to put up his CCTV camera this afternoon.
DD rang in a bit of a panic because Ziggypup has come into season and the dogwalkers won't take her (although they will take her today as a one off). Anyway we managed to sort things for next week and we'll have to work on the following week later. She'll be abld to be spayed now so it won't happen again.0 -
Good morning everyone :hello:
Wow, what a chatty lot we are today, it's really nice to read everyone's news this morning. I have nothing new to report, life is just chugging along.
We have some sunshine here this morning although there are clouds forming in the distance. The back door is open so the dogs can come in and out as they please although I am still very twitchy about 'snake-gate' from last year when Max brought in a slow worm and proudly presented it to me :eek::eek:. I have never screamed so loud and was a snotty crying mess as I have a severe phobia about snakes...and yes I know a slow worm is a lizard but it looks like a snake :eek::eek:. Anyway, apparently we have loads in the garden so I have to check the dogs everytime they come in.
Weigh in for me tomorrow so I am hoping another couple of pounds have bitten the dust. I will have to wait and see although salad is going to feature quite highly on today's menu :rotfl:.
Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx0
