Apologies in advance if this is the wrong forum, but i need to vent!
A friend who is working in a letting agency told me about a family who are on housing benefit and are renting out houses for each individual, and then in return renting it out to other people! I don't understand how that is possible - surely the council would realise this - paying out housing benefit to (let's say) Mark for a house on North Road and then paying out housing benefit for Susan (wife of Mark) on South Road, and doing the same for Mark's sister and her husband for two other different houses and so on. Apparently there is one whole extended family who are doing this, while in fact they are all living in one house and renting out the others. It makes me so mad! There are genuine people who require assiatance (housing benefit) but these scum are milking the system and making a huge amount of money. My friend told me a member of the family arrives (in a brand new Mercedes or BMW) practically every week requesting a new house to rent.

  • There's an easy way to sort this - report them for benefit fraud!
  • And aren't they breaching the terms of their tenancy agreement by subletting?!

Alternatively make some form of bomb and post it through their letterbox while they're all at home. Wipe out the whole family of leeches.

    (Disclaimer: I am joking.)

Do it anonymously if you want (I would)

Report back when you've done it. I want to bask in your glory, knowing that some wrongdoers are going to get done.
"Mrs. Pench, you've won the car contest, would you like a triumph spitfire or 3000 in cash?" He smiled.
Mrs. Pench took the money. "What will you do with it all? Not that it's any of my business," he giggled.
"I think I'll become an alcoholic," said Betty.
  • Going to get the names from my friend and just do that! Thanks Guy_Montag.
I can't help wondering though how are they getting away with it - surely someone in the council has to think there is something strange going on - a family with all the same surname and from the same place etc.

You'd think so, wouldn't you?

But, sadly, it's rarely the case.
