Oh joy ... seems like APCOA have f'ed up again. The POPLA code is rejected on the POPLA site as "not valid".

Try again on Monday or Tuesday. Sometimes their systems get a little out of step.

Having only received the first appeal refusal on Wednesday, you have plenty of time.

If it still won't work next week, lodge a complaint with the BPA.

For good measure cc the complaint to the DVLA.

And the customer service phone number on their rejection letter is "number unobtainable" ... sigh. Bunch of useless, !!!!less, incompetent [fill in your own words here].

Please never try to phone a PPC, they do not even have ''customers'', let alone a customer service ethic. NO PHONE CALLS. We didn't tell you to phone them. STOP.

OK, it's Wednesday and the POPLA code still doesn't work.

What is my best next step, and what are the potential resolution paths?

Presumably, if APCOA don't receive notice from POPLA of an appeal, they will pass this to debt recovery and then Small Claims?

Since they do list a Customer Server number on the rejection letter (and another one different one on the PCN), wouldn't a court think it reasonable for me to attempt to call them to check the POPLA code (always in the role of keeper), since this might provide the swiftest resolution?

Although I could complain to the BPA (on the basis of a breach of the BPA Professional Code of Conduct), am I right in thinking that this won't necessarily stop APCOA's process?

Why do you think that? Who else is going to stop APCOA's 'process'?

Advice in post #24 still holds good. Do that alongside Castle's advice above.

Called POPLA. Turns out the POPLA code APCOA had supplied was dated 9th May, and so has expired.

Given that the rejection letter from APCOA was dated 14th June, it seems that APCOA have given me someone else's POPLA code on someone else's rejection letter for someone else's PCN.

The more I go down this rathole, the more their incompetence staggers me. More ammo for the BPA.

The very helpful lady at POPLA gave me a phone number for the BPA ... OK to call them in the first instance rather than email?
