Blimey G_M, I thought that vid was a spoof when I saw the name of the place..... but nope - they have a website and everything. £600 a week to stay there.0

The photographer who took the shots used to market my house when I last sold turned up with an extendable pole that allowed him to take almost aerial pictures and gave a perspective that you'd never see from ground level, if yours does the same it might be good enough.0

Don't touch anyone without a PfCO (Permission for Commercial Operations) and fully compliant with EC 785/2004 insurance! It's not worth the risk.
I'm a CAA approved commercial drone operator and I come up against people that work illegally such as this. No PfCO, no commercial operations.
They normally have zero photographic skills, no videography skills and have a DJI Phantom or Mavic. it's illegal for them to fly in a congested area, such as a town or village and have to stay more than 150m away when flying. They have no insurance, so if something goes wrong, the drone hurts someone or damages property, no one is covered.
PfCO holders are fully trained in planning, risk assessments, UAV emergencies, and most importantly are legally allowed to do it. Like any trade, there's the qualified & skilled and you have the cowboys.
You can either find one using the CAA's website that lists all PfCO holders or find them using ApprovedDronePilots.co.uk Just search in your area, all listed with examples of work.
Don't get a cowboy.0 -
Thank you for your reply. My gut was telling me as much.
I'll check out that website. Thanks again!0 -
pretty sure you can get a cheap drone and camera off eBay of less than the £200 and you can do your own?0

It's quite a big detached house, and we have a pool in the back. Just want to show it off really. I've seen some amazing drone photos for houses and I think it really helps to sell them. Well, did for me.
Fair enough, and a few hundred quid might be a drop in the ocean in terms of selling price. That said, you have to question whether it they were "amazing drone photos for houses" or actually "drone photos for amazing houses"...0 -

All sorts of laws for Drones now. I'm not even sure you're allowed to fly them within 50m of residential properties / people without a license and such. Most owners won't bother with paid work that is going to be used on a commercial level (i've been asked a few times now) because it's so hot at the moment. That's why it's so expensive to get done, equally why people are so quick to point fingers (the ones who have paid out don't want to lose out on business).
That being said, if anything happens it's him breaking the law / liable, not you, no?
Saying that, I flew my mavic drone high above my own house and took photos without thinking twice about it... soooo i'm a bit of a hypocrite there...0 -
Buy your own HD drone off Amazon (or elsewhere), far less than £200, excellent quality and you can take as many photos as you want to get decent shots. It's nothing , not nothink.0
