Bonjour from a wet & chilly France:(
Had a lovely bath this morning & washed my hair so was all clean & fresh for my visit to the Doctors:rotfl: DSis managed to sell a hairdryer & 5 Glass dessert bowls before we left for the doctors. Have a gum infection which has been painful for a few days so have been unable to chew BUT when I woke up this morning the lh side of my face was swollen & droopyAntibiotics prescribed & the visit was only €25 :rotfl: thank god for the NHS :T The prescription was cheaper though just over €5
Dentist visit on the cards when we get back :rotfl:
DSis got her medical records from the doctor & a prescription for four months heart medication, avoids the need for panic when we get back to England.
DH stayed home & got on with a bit more decluttering :rotfl:
Plan for the day is more decluttering- there are so many cupboards, drawers, rooms etc to still go through but we WILL get there :rotfl:
Holly glad you are meal planning & stocking your freezer again
Speky enjoy your date& be yourself - you sound like a lovely young man & several of the ladies on this thread seem to have ‘adopted’ you :rotfl:
TA, great forward planning & best to get everything out of the way in one hit - I am sure the kitchen will be absolutely lovely & when you have arranged it how you like it you will be absolutely chuffed & all the upheaval, dirt etc will be forgotten :rotfl: eventually :rotfl:
Have a good day everyone.

Welcome MSEmma; good to have you aboard. The Mint was put in the border of the front 'garden' rather than in the planter.nannywindow wrote: »Mehefin Are you casting nasturtiums on the good people of this thread ? Odd indeed...... never ! Strange, bizzarre, weird or peculiar maybe :rotfl::rotfl:.
Speky best of luck with your date - though I'm sure you won't need it, if you're as pleasant in RL as you come across on here.
Re family jewels - I don't have any, as I am estranged from all my blood relatives. Mr LW has a gold watch that was his Dad's, which he wears on special occasions.
The workmen have moved on to the top end of the close; so there's still no proper vehicular access. I hope they are gone from this bit completely before Saturday, when Honey arrives for an overnight stay. But oh, my poor garden! They have left it looking very sorry for itself. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Get your ear defenders on folks I am about to emit the loudest AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH you have ever heard! I am beginning to think this installer is hankering after moving in!! He seems to work hard with no progress to show for it! The electrician who was due has been postponed until tomorrow so no leccy in the kitchen again. The floor is still not finished and he disappeared at lunchtime with the famous words of I won't be long - over 2 hours ago!!!! I really don't think the job will be finished by the weekend, especially as I have now thrust more work on him! Rant over - for now!!
Welcome to EMMA nice to meet you. I am not always a mad crazy woman honest! SPEKY are we all out buying hats?! Well done to your DGS's JACKIE. LAMEWOLF fingers crossed the upheaval doesn't drag on long.
Success at Dunelm - got my matching mw, toaster and kettle but not the ones I set out for! No suitable light fittings there but I got one at B & Q using my Diamond card. All the boxes are still in the car so not looked at it properly yet. No room for any more boxes just yet!!
(Installer back and the drilling has resumed)
NANNYWINDOW will you please have a nice calm and tranquil day tomorrow. Just in case our paths are following the same route!!

TA are the workmen provided by the kitchen company? If so I think i would be having a few firm words regarding some of the behaviour and final payment...if it's not finished by etc etc.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

FLOSS he is the owner of the kitchen company (the younger chap is his son)! Just a small family business which has been trading locally for about 14 years and has received very good reviews which is the reason I chose them! Maybe I am being impatient and expecting too much too soon as we weren't exactly given a deadline for the kitchen being finished anyway! But it is now working day 8 and I am sick of the upheaval!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

It's not acceptable in my view to leave pensioners without a functional kitchen for so long, and to disappear for 2 hours mid-day mid-job on just 1 occasion warranted our workmen being asked to work the weekend when our bathroom was being re-fitted. Maybe I'm not as tolerant as you (and I tell my chaps when they're taking the mick), but if your guys are on a fixed amount, I'd have thought they would want to be done to move onto the next job.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

TA I'm very sorry but we will be wallpapering tomorrow, so nothing calm or tranquil, especially as I'm a bit disabled with my arms at present. Our windows took just over 2 weeks and we're still in a pickle. The window fitter was fab and did a superb job but the person who is in the office is so disorganised ( as in couldn't organise a p*** up in a brewery
) Such a shame really as otherwise I would give a glowing recommendation and they were 3 thousand pounds cheaper than their nearest rivals. So I suppose I really shouldn't complain.
LW is there any chance you could get compensation for your garden ?
Right I,m off, I have to get myself psyched up to watch pointless :rotfl:Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
Made it to Glasgow in one piece.
LW - yes, I know about the mint. It's in a neglected border and can rampage away until next year. I've got mint in the back garden in a pot.
Happy evening all - going to hide from TA's anger. Hugs.0 -
Evening everbody,
Weather hasn't been too bad today, couple of heavy showers with sunshine in between.....it has been cold.
Went to funeral with brother this morning, he didn't really want to go and then he wanted to stay longer than we could, as I had an appointment I had to keep......should have changed it yesterday but didn't realise that he would change his mind.....men!
We are having salmon something for dinner.....DD2 in charge.
Holly.....so pleased that you are doing so well.
Sympathy for those of you who are have work done in your house......I will never forget our extension of 20 years ago......this too shall pass, no matter how drawn out the work seems to be.
I woke during the night with a severe pain across my back....I haven't had back problems for years so am a little anxious as the pain hasn't lessened with lots of moving around.
Take care of yourselves

Hi all
just back from night time stables. Its blooming freezing out there!! Nothing like the contented munching of haynets though.
Nasturtiums!! I'm sure you can do better than that!
And will you lot stop talking about the family jewels..I'm still firmly connected to mine!
Goodnight off for a warm up
