Well done TA! That big job done for another year.
LameWolf - I feel for you. Stay hidden!
I made a mistake earlier - the gold watch was my great-grandmother's. My confusion was because of the German word for granny! My mother said it was 'Omi's' watch and I thought she meant MY granny. In fact is was my 'Uromi's' watch, my mother's grandmother. So older than I thought.
Anyway, the fabulous horologist freed up some grunged up pieces and it worked immediately. It will need a proper clean but not right now. Only problem now is he set it one hour ahead, we were so busy have a high old chat that neither realised. Still, DM can manage.
Work was OK. My student from this morning is rather challenged academically and therefore slow to assimilate information. Now I need to eat something.
Happy evening to all.0 -
Evening all. We have had rain all day and there's no sign of it stopping
but at least the windows are finished :j. I'm hoping the rain will wash away some of the brick dust from outside.
I went to Dads today to do some cleaning. I'm not going to moan or rant ........ I will just scream Aaaarrrrrrrrrrrrgh . There that's better.
I came home and jumped straight in the bath but had a senior moment and then washed my hair with conditioner, not the shampoo. Cue another hair wash session.
While I was away Mr fix It cleaned up the kitchen and made a delicious curry with the leftover lamb ready for tea, which we had with half and half. He's a good old stick :A.
I wear my Mum's wedding ring on my middle finger as I have thin fingers, although her ring is more oval than round but I suppose that may be expected after wearing it for 60 years. I also inherited my aunt's gold watch which was presented to her by H M the Queen for her services in the Royal Mint. I confess that I have never worn the watch as I'm afraid of damaging it or losing it. I'm a bit of a Calamity Jane where watches are concerned.
Holly thank goodness your GP is trying to help you. Keep your chin up lovely and try not to let things get you down. Sending extra hugs to you.
TA nearly there now. Gird those loins for the next few days :rotfl:
Judi some people always seem to want to take advantage of others. Hugs
I am now whiling away the time until bedtime, as I am bushed tonight.
Take care and hugs to all.Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
Hugs LW, that must be difficult out for you.
