Hi all I've read the newbie bit but couldn't find a definitive answer sorry.
had a 4 night stay at hartlepool marina travelodge and was informed by receptionist that the local parking firm NPS are a bit of a nightmare and she duely helped me fill in the online details for the duration of my stay which was from 6th april for 4 nights leaving on the morning of the 10th.
low and behold got a PCN for parking for the last night of my stay 9th to 10th stating exceeded maximum stay period.
i have invoice and booking confirmations for proof of my stay at the hotel.
additionally i live in scotland and was down england for a visit, with this in mind should i;
a) just ignore (because i live in scotland)
b) do an online appeal to NPS showing hotels invoice booking details etc
really appreciate any help.

c) complain to the Hartlepool Marina Travelodge Manager first.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

you could do either as keeper, but the most important point here is not to reveal who was driving as there is no POFA2012 in Scotland , so no keeper liability
chances are that NPS will refuse any appeal, no matter how strong , but if it can be worded in such a way as to avoid naming the driver, it may be an idea to do what you have said, but then IGNORE them for 5 years unless you get a simple procedures court claim from your sheriffs office (unlikely) in that 5 year period
keep all original documents and copies of the paperwork etc for 5 years , supply scans or copies only , redacting as required
ideally get the hotel to get it cancelled (like CM says above) as its their contract with you and they are jointly liable for the actions of their contractors0 -
Travelodge website states no liability for parking issues as they do not own land etc.
it would be hard to show hotel invoices etc as my name is on them so this may be seen as admission
appreciate the rapid response from you btw0 -
Admission of what? Having visited their establishment?monkeyhanga wrote: »it would be hard to show hotel invoices etc as my name is on them so this may be seen as admission0 -

Who cares? They would say that! Clearly they get loads of complaints about PPCs.Travelodge website states no liability for parking issues as they do not own land etc.
Complain to the Manager, and if they do not contract the PPC, ask for the contact details of the landowner who did.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I have contacted Travelodge customer service and asked for them to look at it if possible and send me a screen print proving I registered correctly for onsite parking......try that first if I get no joy will probably just ride it out.0

If you get nowhere with your first attempts with Travelodge, try Tweeting them or post on their FB page; that often gets a quicker response.Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End
You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time0 -
will give that a try.......will let you all know how I get on......cheers you most excellent people0

There is more than one parking company with the initials NPS. Is it Northern Parking Services you're dealing with?
If so, this company - Northern Parking Services (North East) Ltd, to be precise - is a BPA accredited operator and so if you have no joy with Travelodge, you still have the option of "appealing" to NPS using the Blue MSE template and then escalating to POPLA.0
