    That is of course working on the normal Scottish basis of the buyer having carried out all their surveys (or relying on the seller's Home Report) before making the offer (or having a very limited period after acceptance to purify a suspensive condition about surveys). Not still faffing about with them after seven weeks.

    Estate agents must despair at vendors like this. It's a life-changing purchase involving several zeroes, not a quick glance at the snack aisle in Tesco.
