Clicking on to the forum shows the message "This forum is in maintenance mode, please try later".
Fair enough, but below this it then says:
"Too many forum members seem unable or unwilling to abide by the forum rules. The forum staff team does not have the capacity to deal with this at present, so the forum has been closed for the time being"
Anyone got any further info on what's happening there?
I'd hate to lose this invaluable resource, even for more than a day or two:(

Its not really an independent forum. Anything negative to say about platforms, they will remove the post unless its from the likes of lendy (who are the joke of the P2P industry).
Its a bit of a joke of a site really. Most of the posts are just rubbish and a waste of time.0 -
I actually find most of the posts their to be of good quality and very little hiding behind an anonymous forum name in order to behave badly. (Which happens here too much!). Most of the members are very friendly.
There are plenty of posts that attack platforms and plenty in support.
They do have strict rules about not naming borrowers and I understand the reason for that is because if a borrower didn't get a loan due to information posted on the site, then not only the poster could be liable (to be sued by the borrower) but the platform too.0 -
Many posts on a day to day basis complain about companies, loans etc as well as offering advice to newbies and general chat which sometimes a company may reply to but no company runs the site so seems pretty independent to me0

Some platform rep's will be jumping for joy at this news, no doubt!
I suspect this is simply a warning and it will be up again at some point (At least I hope so)0 -
I hope so too. without them my p2p lending will stop. If anybody is aware of an alternative please let me knowThe word "dilemma" comes from Greek where "di" means two and "lemma" means premise. Refers usually to difficult choice between two undesirable options.
Often people seem to use this word mistakenly where "quandary" would fit better.0 -

I disagree with that, I found many negative posts about all platforms there and it certainly appeared like barely any got removed.
I also was finding it a good source of information about the ongoing situation with collateral (where I have a good chunk tied up).
Hoping it comes back, if it doesn't then there is an opening for someone to start another forum.0 -
I doubt it could be replicated, it was/is unique in its links with platforms (although certainly independent). Hopefully it is temporary, to allow people to realise just how useful it was.. Having said that the Administrators and moderators would probably need to weigh the small benefit they may get from the forum compared to the obvious work needed to keep it running with the disrupted element so active.0

Looks like someone already has: p2pfrankdiscussion [dot] freeforums [dot] net0 -
A couple of the P2PIF moderators stepped down recently so their message regarding staff capacity is quite believable. I hope they will have enough volunteers to continue.
If they are unable to continue then I hope their pages can at least be reactivated in a read-only state because there was so much good information stored there.
Either way they have my gratitude. It was/is amazingly useful.0
