Haven't been to Ibiza, but I'm in Mallorca right now. Pretty much everywhere takes cards these days (except for a fish restaurant we went to yesterday in a fairly remote part of the island where they claim they have no signal - although strangely enough our mobile phones worked well enough). That's not a problem though as there are loads of cash machines around.

Update on this - I can confirm that I used my card twice to withdraw €70 each time from a Santander ATM in Mallorca and there are no charges - each time the daily rate was levied and it was about £61.21 each time.

Watch out for the DCC option - always choose euros. Santander trying to skin their own customers !!

So Santander define the ballearic islands as mainland Spain as far as atm withdrawals go.
