Sick puppy purchased

It was apparent when I got there that she wasn't very well kept, yellow wee stained legs, underweight, itching, and bloated like she had worms oh and not vaccinated.
and you still paid for her?0 -
Are you prepared to give the dog back to the breeder? You can't ask for a refund and expect to keep the faulty goods.
I agree that the dog comes under CRA but can you return it after you have carried out repairs on it without giving the seller a chance to take action themselves.
Forget that it is an animal. The law treats dogs as goods.0 -
Yes we did as if we had left her she would have been left with more hardship0

Then you have probably paid money to a puppy farm and your money is allowing them to perpetuate it.
Once more- did your vet check the puppys hips?
When I bought a puppy I took him straight to the vet for a health check. The vet checked his hips.0 -
Contact trading standards & also report to RSPCA, sounds like a dodgy breeder, there are many puppies suffering from illness soon after being bought from a !!!8220;reputable!!!8221; breeder, sadly these people are not interested in animal welfare they are all about the money, Watchdog highlighted it this week & if it means someone else doesn!!!8217;t have to go through the pain of seeing their new pet ill & in pain & the cost incurred definitely report it, sadly these type of breeders are all about the money, I hope yours is well soon0

I understand that you have a new member of the family and that you want to do right by her but report the breeder now.0 -

And that when you accepted responsibility for her future. Did it not occur to you that you might be taking on a lot of problems?
Yes, you have redress but as already said your option is to return a faulty product and get a refund.
Are you prepared to do that, knowing her circumstances when you bought her?
You cannot force the breeder to pay vet costs or to refund and let you keep the puppy. Any contribution towards vet fees/refund would be purely a goodwill gesture from the breeder which ,I expect, is unlikely to happen.
Since you knew the conditions she was in it would have been prudent to take out insurance right away. Did you?
the only way to hit such breeders is not to buy from them, hard as it is to leave a puppy in bad conditions.
Report the conditions to the RSPCA but there is little they can do if the 'breeder' conducts her business in a private residence. They have no right of entry and can only enter with agreement of the resident or with a warrant. However, if they receive many reports about the one person they are more likely to investigate.
Do not believe stories that they were going to keep the puppy but decided against it. More likely they had not been able to sell the puppy.0 -
Well thanks everyone this has been beautiful. So it seems I'm the bad one for buying her.
Much appreciated0 -

No, you're the person who has to decide if they want to pursue a refund because doing so will mean that you may well have to return the dog, which would be legally correct.0 -

I'm not really sure what you expect people to say. Everyone has a point and you seem to be ignoring questions directed at you.
What do you actually want as a resolution to this and are you prepared to return the dog?0
