So sorry for your loss. It is awful when you lose a much loved pet and people without pets just don't understand.

I have had many rescue cats and dogs over the years and every time one of them died I was distraught. The one that hit me the hardest was a dog that wasn't a rescue. We got him at 9 weeks and I somehow felt closer to him. When he died aged 12 I cried for weeks and both me and DH vowed we would never get another dog. Two years on we did because we missed having one so much.

I lost both dogs within four days of each other. That was 4 years ago. It still upsets me when I think about it. But the best thing to do is give that love to another animal, especially a rescue animal that hasn't known love. It helps to heal!!

Oh my God, can't even imagine how do you feel now, loosing two pats almost at the same time is horrible.
After I lost my cat few months ago, I had the same thoughts, no pets ever again. But now, when I'm visiting my friend's house, and she has a little kitten, I feel some happy and thinking that maybe it's time to take care of some animal again.

I know its an old thread but everyday there are people parting ways with their pets..
Whoever reading this, I know what you are going through, I lost my beloved pet last month and its painful just clearing away her toys and equipment...

Never give up on animals or the joy of keeping a pet. We can all make a difference giving a lovely hope to our fury friends. #AlwaysAdopt.
