After years of Silentnight pocket sprung mattresses, I just bought a Dunlopillo Royal Sovereign which has won several Which awards over the years, inc their latest tests.
I'm getting much better sleep now.Signature on holiday for two weeks0 -
Inside the Factory Mattresses Inside the Factory Series 5 Episode 4 of 10
on BBC 2 iplayer.
They were at the Harrison Spink factory in Leeds who do high end mattresses and also supply Benson for Beds as well as John Lewis - who have a sale on at the moment.
In the factory was a real eye opener for both myself and hubby. Worth a look-see to find out just why some mattresses are really that expansive.

I bought a Hypnos mattress a few years ago, the best.
I tried memory foam and could not stand it, not for everyone.0 -
With that budget go-to Ikea and get the top of the range with topper and still have change. They come with a 25 year warranty and you know with Ikea the price is genuine.0

We have a Harrison. Well worth the money (£900 mattress only).0 -
I recently replaced old Ikea mattresses with new Hovag pocket-sprung ones (also Ikea). We have 2 singles together to form a super kingsize mattress. They are beautifully firm, with a soft layer over the top, but we also have a mattress topper. You cannot feel your partner move or get into/out of bed even though there are "shared" layers of topper, and sheets. Guaranteed for 25 years, though I can't imagine wanting to sleep on the same one for that long!"Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.0

Had an Ikea memory foam mattress and it was ok, often quite hot though. We were looking to spend £1000 or so on a mattress and tried all sorts - eventually girlfriend tried a simba and decided that was her favourite even compared to the higher priced ones. Picked one up in a sale and haven’t looked back. Far cooler, really comfortable. Massive improvement over the Ikea. Saved a bomb on our budget.0

My daughter used to work for Jenson beds, so we got some really cheap deals on the demo mattresses.
Without doubt the best we have ever had. Her boyfriend works for Benson beds, but admits that the Jenson are much better.0 -

I splashed out on a Simba, and honestly the best purchase i have made in my house (second to my coffee machine!)
My bad issues really subsided.
Well worth the expense0
