Hi Guys,
After long waiting of 2 months, we've finally got the keys yesterday, and started moving into new house !!!.. to our great surprise, our 'nice' vendor has left a huge amount of rubbish, and even more in the loft !!!.. only yesterday, we had a chance to properly VIEW THE PROPERTY.. I am really anonyed to find out lots of wall paper r peeling off.. they were hidden behind all their furniture, that's why we didn't notice when we did the viewing.. Now, we'll have to re-plaster all !!!.. Also the carpet is amazingly dirty !!!..all dirty bits were hidden during the viewing !!.. Generally, I am very upset.. and now, we have to schedule a few k (possibly ?) to redo the carpet as well as the bloody wall paper !!!.... asl well as getting rid of those tons of rubbish !!!..
anyway, just to moan.. i know there's nothing much I could do about it.

We had the same, between the viewings and completion was about two months. In that time the dogs were allowed to roam freely, every door was scratched, the wooden floors were damaged, wall paper filthy etc.
At least we were in and the hassles over. Just enjoy your new house and put things right as and when you can.

Its a pain but just enjoy being in your new home (avoiding eye contact with the peeling paper) and put all the stress of buying behind you!0

Inform the estate agents. A friend was in the same position and complained to them and they arranged for the rubbish to be removed.
After all ea's have probably made a lot of money from you.
Would advise anyone to ask for another viewing just before completion to see what kind of state the house is in. If a mess you should have a chance to haggle with sellers.0 -
On one of the forms I completed for the solicitor regarding the sale of my house, I had to sign to say I would take away the rubbish. Check with yours it might be that you can claim costs of that back. The rest you will have to live with I'm afraid but skimming walls is not so expensive. We don't stop playing because we grow old; We grow old because we stop playing.0

Oh, how frustrating! We had a similar problem. The wallpaper peeled off reasonably easily and we didn't have to plaster. Maybe you can keep it on most of the walls and peel it off on the bad one and make a 'feature wall' out of it with some funky contrasting paper/paint.
Our carpets were filfhy too. I went over them so many times with a carpet cleaner I thought I'd get trench foot from the damp. You shouldn't have to go to the cost of getting your carpet cleaned, but ask around friends and family and see if anyone will help out by lending you one. Moving into someone else's grime is horrible, but once its sorted and fresh it will be wonderful.
Maybe you can look into where you stand on invoicing them for storage if none of the above worksPlease stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? just had something similar I viewed a flat in May, sale should have gone through in Aug but due to problems with lease it finally went through in Oct!
When i finally got the keys I went in to clean and remove carpets (old lady's flat who had passed away) a leak from upstairs flat had brought ceiling down in bathroom!! Then putting up new plasterboard meant the bathroom cabinet had to be remove - no tiles behind it!! Now the cabinet can't just be replaced,a new one has got to be the same size or bigger.
Also the hot water had stopped working and when it was checked someone had bodged it a long time ago so it had to be professional done this time.
Then the new kitchen was fitted to find no water would drain away, turned out to be fat that had been poured down sink and clogged up pipes.
These are things you can just never know about until you move in!0
