Saving for last min holiday.

I’m looking to take the family on our first holiday abroad but not until June 2019 so not really last minute...... But, booking 12 month in advance seems more expensive than waiting until a few months before departure date.
Baring in mind I can’t save if life depended on it, are their any savings accounts out there whereby I can put the money away and be unable to withdraw the funds until a certain date set by myself.
Thanks for any advice.

I agree with dave - prices usually go up year on year and if your location is popular or small, or your family is more than the expected 2+2, then you might struggle later. Having not been abroad for about 10 years, probably changed since then in terms of last min versus booking early.
I looked earlier at Thomas Cook going to Tenerife, June next year which came in around £2800 self catering (2 adults + 3 Kids) for a hotel on the beach line. And then tapped in the exact same details for June this year, fair enough I didn!!!8217;t get the same hotel but some very similar coming in at well over a grand cheaper.
But having said that I would prefer to have choice over !!!8216;what!!!8217;s left over!!!8217; so prob will book in advance when I return from Cornwall this June. (Hopefully tui and jet2 have released 2019 hols by then0 -
How about paying for it on a 0% credit card and then paying off 1/12 of the balance each month? Obviously if you can't control your spending then this won't be an option but one way or another you need to sort your spending habits so you can get out of living payday to payday.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0
