Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
A lovely morning but we still have the wind, it will keep the temperature down a bit. We had wind all day yesterday and rain in the evening.
I have to wait in for the chap to come and look at the wet room floor, its no nearer drying out and I am concerned that the water has run under the shower as well.
It was too windy to do much in the garden yesterday, OH pottered in the shed. Cleaners came, so the house is clean and tidy again until next week.
I have had to put a padlock on my purse, I have spent too much on the garden, our bank balance is rapidly goind south........so no more plants.
Think we will have salad for supper tonight, I have a quiche in the freezer and there is enough of the crumble left for tonight.0 -

Good morning one and all,
A busy day at work yesterday followed up by an evening at my mums who mended some items of clothing for me and I made the most of their excellent internet.
Today, I'll finish work early and get a few things done. My flight tomorrow is at 5pm and I've a busy morning getting various things done, so I'll try and get as much done this afternoon.
In other, unrelated news, it was a colleagues birthday on Monday and we bought her a cake and shared a bit in the afternoon. The cake is still in the office, in the box and wrapped up - untouched since then. Birthday is my weakness. I love the stuff. But it's not my cake so I cant help myself but I bet they put it in the bin. Plus I'm trying to eat healthy, so I really shouldn't but it is the best thing ever. Arrrgh. Decisions decisions.
HH - Sounds like a lovely day yesterday. I think the sun can really help make people feel better.

Morning all,
A fairly grotty grey day here, but then again it usually is :rotfl::( Daffodils are only just coming out in the park!Just been out with the hound up there, still boggy.I gave her a bath (well a hose down and shampoo) when I got back.Once the wet dog smell has dried she should be a lot more fragrant.
Holly.a sneaky ice cream from the park cafe is one of my favourite treats.I was most miffed last week when I took the DGC and had only enough change for theirs
TA -chippy tea ? When we moved here 3 years ago I was without a proper kitchen for 4 months- temp sink and an old sideboard for a worktop/cupboard.I borrowed one of those mini ovens, and had my remoska, slow cooker and microwave. Come to think of it ,it was a similar length of time when we moved into our last house.I think I've just got used to scenarios like that married to a builder
Something with mince tonight,as yet undecided...
Spent a lovely couple of hours with Auntie (mums cousin)up the road. She's 87 and amazing. She has a neighbour who is usually there having coffee so its just general chit chat but he was late so we had a nice reminisce about her mum and my Gran who were sisters, she was telling me tales of growing up in the 30s and 40s.She and my mum spent a lot of time together so it was lovely to hear things I never knew. I did some more painting when I got home but have run out of paint now.
Hope you all have a good day x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
It's a beautiful day here, the french doors are open for the first time this year.
I was a bit late up and got a phone call from delivery people to say they were 5 minutes away, cue a mad throwing on of clothes because DH was at the gym. It was the new dining chairs for the kitchen table because the others were falling apart and the faux leather was flaking off. These are proper leather so hopefully will last (although to be fair the others were 9 years old).
I think a decent walk is in order today, we will be taking the pup home tomorrow evening, DD got back from Aberdeen last night but she has a full day of college today and a day in the office tomorrow so rather than take Ziggy back to spend a couple of days with daycare we'll keep her.0 -
Bonjour tout le monde
Holly, so pleased you had a nice day yesterday & I hope today is just as goodDid you have a ‘99’ ? Now I fancy one :rotfl:
silver-oldie, whatever choices you have made will be the correct ones - as evidenced by having slept a bit better last night.
Another glorious day hereGot up with DH today - he fed the cats & we had a cuppa before he went off to bottle bank, bakery & sm for a small shop.
EA called around & my DSis hidI think she is a lovely lady (but my DSis can be a bit ‘awkward’
) Anyway, the EA asked for a couple of cuttings off DSis’s vine - I agreed + she needed one of her boards back - agreed + a potential problem brought to light. When all the checks re termites, electrics etc were done the chap who came wasn’t qualified to check the pipes etc re water supply so got someone else in. The first chap is happy to be paid when the final papers are signed but the 2nd chap needs paying ASAP
EA will make sure he has not been paid then DH & I will pay in cash - we really can do without any extra stress
I am on dinner duty again. DH & DSis have gone to the Tip with a carload of paper/cardboard + a couple of bags of clothes & a bag of small electricals. The decluttering starts again when they are back :rotfl:
Have a good day everyone.

ROSYRED 4 months without a kitchen?! You are made of sterner stuff than me! The first couple of days were quite painless with the electrician and plasterer here but today with the installers AAAAARGH!!!! It's been chaos from the word go! I shall be glad to be out of the way tomorrow when we have Mr TA's Oncology appointment in Leeds and I can escape the noise and upheaval for a day! They are happy to be left alone as long as I leave them access to the kettle, tea, coffee, milk and cakes!
Mr TA has just had words with the skip man who, in his wisdom, left the skip blocking our drive and we couldn't get the car out! He finally came back this morning to move it amidst much chuntering and muttering!! I despair of some people!
Sadly no chippy up here (or anywhere near) for the girls' tea but thanks for the suggestion! It's a pity as I could have quite fancied fish and chips as not had any for ages!
Why didn't I invest in some earplugs, this constant drilling is doing my head in and giving me a headache.
Hope you are all having a better day than us! xxx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Afternoon all,
Still very windy here but much warmer and very sunny, was nice to be out earlier, didn't realise how much I missed the sun, even if its only lukewarm!
Holly, so glad that you had such a lovely day yesterday, hope that today worked out as well.
Knitting this morning. Am a little concerned about our oldest member (85), she seemed a little unsteady on her feet, not completely with the programme and admitted to feeling tired....she lives with her daughter and son in law, daughter is away until next week, will talk to her when she gets back, my friend still drives.....not sure that she should......she has a UK license which apparently lasts for life (is that correct??) So no medical check on her ability to drive......at 70 here you must have a doctor certify you fit and then only for a maximum of 3 years. I will keep in touch with her over the week.
DSIL is designated chef tonight, he is making spag bol which smells amazing.....my mouth is starting to water!
Hugs to all who could do with one or more

Meanmarie - UK licences are valid until 70 years and then must be renewed every three years, no medical unless advised by ??? It's a difficult decision to make, my DM gave up driving last month after her 90th birthday. She's relieved, I'm more relieved!
Well I took said DM to her docs appointment, then she wanted to do a little bit of shopping so I left her there and went off to get her scripts filled. Then she had to be at the audiologist so took her there, cane back to her place, had a cup of tea and then went back for her. Now I've organised her podiatry appointment and rang to nudge for her proposed echocardiogram.
On my own front I think I've found my new to me car. Fingers crossed, I'll know for definite tomorrow afternoon. :j And it's my long longed for red.
Now I hope everyone has had a fulfilling day, small items of fulfilment count just as much as large ones. It's not all about size!0
