Moving home with Sky but can't get regional channels

Hi There,
I hope that this is the right place to post.
I cancelled my sky contract a few months ago and have been using my sky box as Freesat. Last month I moved from Suffolk to Cornwall and after plugging it in here it is still showing BBC East/ ITV Anglia instead of South West. I live in the small percent of area that can not get Freeview either.
I have spoken to Sky and they have offered to send out an Engineer if I take out another contract at £14 a month.
Does anyone know a way of getting round it, I know it's not a huge problem but sometimes I would like to watch my local news.
Thanks in advance for your help
Donna

The regional channels is tied to your viewing card, you need to speak to Sky to get them to updated the viewing card. It maybe possible for them to do this by sending a signal, but they may need to sent a new card, they may want to charge you for it.
You can watch the other BBC1's by looking around channel number 960 I think.0 -
I tried taking my viewing card out but it's still the same.
I'll ring them again and see what they say and yes I found BBC Southwest on 967.
Thank you for the reply0 -
Taking the card help doesn't help, the "region" seem to be remembered by the box.
You might need to buy a "freesat from Sky" card to get it sorted, however you might be able to get someone at Sky to sort it.
If you have to buy a card it seems to be £25

Alternatively if you don't have a SkyQ box, you could buy a freesat recorder, or TV with freesat built in, with which you can just enter a postcode to get the regional channels you want.0 -

I wouldn't waste time (or money) asking Sky to fix the "problem" because the OP is no longer a Sky customer and Sky will only show interest if a new subscription is purchased.
If this is more than merely an annoyance, it may be time for the OP to finally ditch the old Sky box and buy a proper Freesat decoder which can also be used to record for no additional outlay or subscription.bubieyehyeh wrote: »if you don't have a SkyQ box0 -
ITV regions are available on Sky but not as part of the EPG, you have to add them manually through Other Channels. But helpfully they're all marked as ITV so you won't know which region you're looking at until the regional news.0
